πŸͺ‘πŸš«Where Do You Squat? 🚫πŸͺ‘

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Week #21 Challenge πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

August 15th, 2022

Β  Β  Β Is there anything more Southeast Asian than squatting? Well, for you folks that have never traveled outside Southeast Asia, this is not a common thing around the world. It's quite normal in the Africa, eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, but my western friends and family are absolutely mystified by this magical ability to sit without a chair. Whether it be the rice fields of Cambodia, or the modern cityscape of Singapore, I have seen locals "popping a squat" as we say in English.

Here in Cambodia, my family and I have a squat toilet, so that is one obvious place we squat, but I won't be sharing images of that with you all 😁. We also have to squat when washing the dishes or even when a neighbor comes by to talk for a few minutes, we might just have a squat and chat together. Fishing, smoking, a phone call, or even a break from standing and waiting are all common reasons to have a squat in this part of the world. No chair, no problem, so show me where you squat, and feel free to share old images with new ones if you already have them. This challenge is also open to folks outside Southeast Asia.

Week #20 ASEAN Hive Challenge Winners
πŸ₯§πŸ§ Local Desserts 🍑🍩

Β  Β  Β There were a lot of tempting entries in this most recent challenge, and I apologize for a late post. The wife and kids arrived yesterday and Dad-sponsibilities got in the way. I am familiar with many SE Asian snacks and desserts, but there were several surprises for me in this challenge. As usual it was hard to choose only three winners, but I settled on two posts full of variety and one with a wholesome family touch to it.

Me too, I can only squat for 10-15 minutes before I need to get up and move around for a few minutes, then I can squat again.

Hi hi.. Justin.. yes.. the Squat is mystical... especially, I guess if westerners come to Malaysia and see squatting toilets. wahahaha.. It's a combination of squat exercise plus removing waste. That being said.. I am using the sitting toilet at home. A great place to enjoy scrolling the internet. But if I do use the squat toilet.. instead of my butt facing outwards it would be facing inwards with me looking at the door. The diameter for the projectile to reach the water is higher that way.. hahahaha

I am over the moon.. for winning this week's competition.. wahaha.. Congratulations to @tegoshei and @olivia08.

Haha, you and me aim the same 😁. I prefer a squatting toilet, but they are getting increasingly rare in Cambodia, seems a western style toilet is a sign of wealth just like owning a big SUV now. I wish the modern squat toilets with a flushing tank were common here, I've seen them a lot in your country and Singapore too.

Ahhahah yea.. they are plenty here in Malaysia.. the best choice.. getting exercise done as well as getting poop out.. ahahaha.. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰ thank you for such a wonderful reply. Have a great day.. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

In my opinion, squatting is something that is common in Indonesia,
Incidentally I live in Aceh and on average 90% of the toilets here are squat toilets, even I myself have a very hard time when I have to use a sitting toilet, and the funny thing is that I think When I stayed at one of the hotels The toilet in the room is only a sitting toilet but I Using it, keep squatting, congratulations to the winner, hopefully next week you can all be the winner

The squatting position is definitely healthier and better for pooping. I prefer it, and every time I visit the USA I also miss the butt blaster gun for an easy clean.

it's quite clear what you wrote and quite understandable, it's true that we can't possibly share a picture of us squatting while we're in the toilet, because that picture hasn't passed the censorship hahahahahah......

it turns out that your sense of humor is very high,, it's hard to detect, this makes us laugh a little, the participants in the ASEAN community,,, it's not difficult to enter the contest for this time,, but..... what is our squat taste like... that is right....

Luckily no toilet pics, haha. Squatting is a very common thing in this part of the world, so I knew it would be a fun and perhaps funny challenge.

Oh! Squatting is everywhere. We do squat in the toilet, we squat while washing the clothes, we squat while playing during my childhood days but I'd love to share my recent squat which is in the garden.

Here is my entry for this Where you squat challenge:
