👨💻 ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #44 🛠️ Side Hustles 💸 With Ecency Prizes
Greetings Hivers, @justinparke here with a brand new ASEAN Hive Community Challenge for you all, 🛠️ Side Hustles 💸, your chance to share the way(s) you earn outside of your normal daily work.
🛠️ Side Hustles 💸
👨💻 Week #44 👩💻
February 6th ➡️ February 13th, 2023Here in Southeast Asia it's very common for folks to have several ways of earning a little extra income outside of normal working hours. For many of us, Hive blogging is our number one side hustle, and in my case it's main source of income. You ASEAN Hivers are a very skilled and resourceful group of folks, and I know many of you have a job as well as many ways to earn a little extra income during your freetime, and these are the side hustles I want to see for this challenge.
Back when I had a restaurant before the pandemic, I had several side hustles, from making and selling noni juice to English-Khmer translation, Khmer language classes for foreigners, and so much more. Having more than one source of income is very important in this part of the world because sometimes life is unpredictable in Southeast Asia. Okay, I think the purpose of this challenge is clear, so I look forward to seeing how you ASEAN Hivers earn a little extra money.

🛵 This Is My Moto 🏍️
This challenge was quite a joy for me because I love all things will small engines. Because small motos are very common in this part of the world there is a wide variety of styles and brands to choose from. The participants of this challenge shared not only the importance of their moto in daily life, but also how they have customized it, and in one case, even customized a helmet too. I highly recommend you give the winners posts a read because of the

Greetings to my Asean Hive family! Our place is a mountainous location with our majestic Mt. Canlaon which is the main source of our livelihood. Motorcycle has become a necessity in our place because the roads uphill are usually steep and slippery when it rains. Commuting is faster too. Can you imagine 4 sacks of carrots on both sides while the owner is sitting on top? LoL! Well, they seem to get used to it though.
2nd Prize 🥈 6% Beneficiary & 75 Ecency Points

I bought this motorbike in 1997,,, until now the motorbike I have is already 26 years old,,, quite a long time, isn't it??? because in our country if you have bought a motorbike then it can be used and can be used for the rest of your life if the motorbike is still capable of running ... very different from countries that are already sophisticated and already luxurious with equipment like that ... because our country in Indonesia is still very behind,
3rd Prize 🥉 4% Beneficiary & 50 Ecency Points

So our motorcycle is Motorstar150, funny, that's all I know about it even if it had been years since my first ride. Motorcycle has really a huge help in our lives because it makes our commute safe and fast, oh and cheap too! Way back when my husband was so encouraged for making his scarp business successful, he decided we loan a motorcycle; it is payable for 3 long years which makes the unit more pricey. We have no choice because we don't have money to pay it in cash.

haha..... it turns out that my battered motorbike was chosen as the winner this week,, and I also congratulate my two friends who won 1st and 3rd place while I was in 2nd place...once again thank you very much.. .
I explained in my post that my motorbike is almost 30 years old. it's very natural that the seat already looks torn.. what made the tear wasn't a rat or termites, but the seat was eaten up by my own ass haha...
and this week's challenge is also very exciting to follow,,, because every one of us humans must have a side income, of course it's different... if I have free time I will definitely share stories about my side income in this week's challenge...
Congrats bro!
Love your humor bro. Well, what can I say, the butt is a powerful thing, and my ass has destroyed its share of bicycle and moto seats through the years 😆.
Thank you so much for the shout out! I will definitely join on the next round!:)
My pleasure, sorry for the late reply, I have been a little sick the last 24 hours.
Wow! Congrats to the winners of the previous challenge.
Hello sir @justinparke, I am happy to know that hive is your main source of income, it is really possible? Wow! How many years are you here in hive? Knowing this gave me an inspiration to go on.
Oh hopefully I can join this new challenge. I will write about it later.
Hive is indeed my main source of income, and although we'll never get rich from it, it does provide us enough income to keep the kids in school and keep us fed. I used to have many side hustles before COVID, like teaching Khmer to foreigners, but they didn't return after the pandemic because there were other countries a little more welcoming.
Our new village is full alcoholism and gambling addictions, so there is little I can offer them if it's not related to either once of those two thing. In the worst of times we've lived on as little as $250 a month, not easy, but possible. I hope your Hive adventure becomes more and more profitable and eventually provides a significant portion of your monthly earnings.
I am really happy knowing that hive is really a source of income and it helps to fed the family. But I am also sad knowing that people in your village is gambling and alcohol addicts.
Money is just a coin or a piece of paper and without value if we don't know how to handle it well. Let's just live within our means while keep on working hard to live.
I am happy to participate this new asean hive challenge - side hustles and here is my entry:

Thank you @justinparke for this initiative.
Those are good side hustles, very similar to what locals here in Cambodia do. Especially with honey, many people don't trust to buy it from strangers because the sellers often dilute the honey to make it more profitable.
Yes, there are really a lot of fake honey. People should know how to test it if it is real or fake.
Oh I think I will join this hahaha. Congratulations to the winners!
Sorry for the late reply, looking forward to your entry if I find it while scrolling this comment thread.
Ah I decided not to join... 😅

Pigeon racing, my mind is blown, I learned so much from your post.
I am happy that I shared something new to everyone and that you got something from it too @justinparke.
It is really a joy raising and racing pigeons. Maybe you can try I too there in Cambodia.
Are there pigeon fanciers too in your area? It is truly a great hobby and a side hustle In a way a sling as your birds will win.... Haha
I don't know of any pigeon racing in Cambodia, but people do like to carry slingshots and shoot any bird they see to eat for dinner 😅. In Suriname where we were stuck for three years, the locals there having bird singing competitions where they bring a small bird cage to a park and face a challenger to see whose bird makes more chirps.
Haha, wow! That must be an amazing sight to see, bird singing their hearts out.... Haha.
Does it have to be a particular bird? Or any bird that sings? That is very interesting Because I have a cockatiel too and I taught him 7 songs already.. so cute. now I have two new birds still young so I have new students😄😄
I am their music teacher.... Haha
Really they shoot and eat the birds? I wonder what kind of birds do they hunt? Hope they are not pigeons🤭
Congrats to all winners. Love this week's topic. Here's my entry - https://peakd.com/hive-141359/@yzamazing/side-hustles-of-a-certified-raketera-single-mom
Racketeering is a criminal offense in the USA, 😆, I love how words get different meanings in different parts of the world.
Haha now that's something new I learned today 😅
Congratulations to all the winners!
