Srey-Yuu's " Top 3” 🦎 Lizard Island, Ba Chang Festival, A Nice Day, & More! 🍙

Hi, I'm SreyYuu (@kidsisters), and welcome to my ASEAN Hive Top 3. I found three posts from @chichi18, @mnurhiver, and @watusiwoman.

"ASEAN Hive Top 3" 🌏 June 27th - July 3rd, 2022"

     I got three posts from ASEAN Hive. First, I got a post from @chichi18 and her post is about Ba Chang. There is a similar snack here in Cambodia. It is in a triangle shape with banana leaves to wrapped it. I don’t remember much because I haven’t eat it for a long time. I only know one kind of Ba Chang and that is Ba Chang with beans. Next is a post about Lizard Island made by @watusiwoman. First of all the pictures and the views are very beautiful. I’m just curious why is it called Lizard island? It would be cool to travel in a boat, because you can travel to island for free.

     This is a post made by @mnurhiver about a lovely sunny day, unlike here. The weather here is not good at all, it rains a lot and we lost some of our land. Well, that bridge looks very beautiful even if it is small. There are bridges where I live but they are beautiful like the on in @mnurhiver’s post but it is big and strong. Ba Chang Festival

^{(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ)} Every year, the parents of most of my Chinese students and some of my Chinese friends share these sticky rice dumplings they call Ba Chang. These are made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or lotus leaves with various fillings. One parent stated that they can be triangular, square, or round, but I only have seen triangles in Brunei. They say it comes in many kinds of fillings too but down here I was always given red bean in glutinous rice and/or pork meat with salted eggs and cashew nuts in glutinous rice to taste.

^{(ᴇxᴄᴇʀᴘᴛ)} First order of the day was a snorkel of course. Straight off the beach too. Gotta love that. The reef was nothing short of spectacular. All the usual beautiful tropical fish and coral were there but I've noticed that as we get further north there are some extra little beauties. And big beauties too. Hiding in little caves in the coral were some rather large coral trout, grouper, stripey seaperch and the most vibrant large yellowfin surgeonfish.
