Exploring Tehran's Cultural and Religious Treasures: A Visit to Imam Khumeini's Shrine

Tehran is one of the most attractive cities in Iran, as well as the country's capital. This city is well-known for the various nationalities that live and work in Tehran. Also recognised as the modern city and more with freedom options. Many travellers from other nations must visit this city because it is rich in cultural treasures and religious beauties.

A TOUR OF THE FAMOUS REVOLUTIONARY LEADER'S BURIAL SITE IN TEHRAN

We stopped in this city on our way back from Qom to MASHAD to spend some time and tour its cultural and religious sites. In this city, the famous leader of Iran, Khumeini, who led the revolution, is also buried. This is the person who used force to impose Islamic rule on the SHAH king and get success in the revolution.

Without a doubt, this was the most significant revolution, and the entire world admired it. Nelson Mandela and other famous people present amazing sayings regarding this revolution, and when it comes to revolution, many countries and leaders give the example of Iran's successful revolution.

We chose to go to Imam Khumeini's shrine to learn more about him and to see how it appears from the inside. Terrorists are more likely to target this location since it houses the shrine of the Supreme Revolutionary Leader. Terrorists assaulted this location several years ago, killing many visitors as well as members of the military forces.

This site is incredibly secure, and when we entered the gate to access the shrine, we were turned away. since we had bags, suitcases, and a personal camera. We were instructed to divide our group into two groups, with one outside looking after the items and the other half inside the shrine.

They removed our jackets and other outerwear for security checks. That is, they are concerned about the terrorist assault and do not want to witness another terrorist incident. This is a wonderful thing since they are looking for improved security to protect visitors and pilgrims who have travelled a long distance.

A JOURNEY THROUGH ARTISTIC AND RELIGIOUS BEAUTY

In any case, we were only permitted to bring a cell phone with us, and all other stuff were returned. When I entered the shrine, it was enormous, and the inside walls and roofs were exquisitely painted. As you can see in the photo, special artwork is done on the walls and roofs.

There were four more burials beside the Leader shrine, in addition to the shrine itself. After learning about them, I found that they were Khumeini relatives, including his father, mother, brother, and, I believe, son-in-law. Because I saw numerous cultural architects and religious beauties, I believed it was an excellent site to take images and as usual I started taking pictures of the surroundings.

Religious people from many cities in Iran drop money inside the shrine grave to express their love for their leader. As I approached the tomb, I noticed a large amount of money had been dropped inside the shrine. When I questioned the gentleman what the purpose of this money is, he responded that it is to be reused for construction and better security conditions.

The green light chandelier within the temple was breathtaking. The shrine's sides were covered with iron cages so that people could look inside while also preventing access to the main grave. The inner construction was stunning, and the massive chandeliers were hung with brilliant lights.

This is an endeavour on my part to provide you with the best photographs available from within the shrine in Tehran. I hope you enjoy the photography and the read.
