Hello Hivers, it’s my first post here on #marketfriday community and I’m glad about it.

Today I decided to visit the market to get some curtain fabrics and other accessories because I have been procrastinating long ago about it, thinking about the stress and all but today I finally did it.

I visited to the famous New Benin Market in my City, Nigeria. That’s were you can get all sort of fabrics you want without looking any further in the City.

On getting to the market I spotted a tailor who was willing to take me round the market to make choices of what I want as long as she would be the one to sew the curtains for me. So we bargained and made a deal and it was helpful. She took me round the market as I search for the best quality and color.

I wanted peach color and it was a bit difficult for me to get the design I wanted because they were all beautiful.

I went from stores to stores it was becoming stressful and getting late than the actual time I planed to spend in the market and so I finally concluded and picked this.

Welcome to #MarketFriday! So glad to have you on board! The fabric you showed off was beautiful and it was so fortunate that you had a seamstress come with you to help. They know so much about the lay of fabric and how it works.

Do you remember how much the fabric was? Was it expensive or a very good buy? I hope we get to see pictures after it is finished! You selected gorgeous fabric, even if it wasn't the color you were looking for.

Well done and thanks for joining #MarketFriday!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through by their markets, especially local markets and farmers markets and eventually branching out and evolving over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
