Be getting old, Am I becoming Mature? My Perspective for Age and Maturity
Hello Hive Learners Community! Welcome to my blog. The process of learning starts from our birth. In our whole life, this journey of learning continues until our death. In different phases of life, a man has different responsibilities. The burden of these responsibilities acts like an enzyme for us. More responsibilities, more fast is the learning process. It didn't count what number of years we have spent on this planet. I have seen that many ten years Kids from a poor class family are more mature in thinking as compared to the 25 years old Landlord. Similarly, different people get maturity at different age aspects according to their exposure with external conditions like poverty, starvation and other tough life extremities.
What is Aging & Maturity?
First I shall discuss the concepts of age and maturity according to Scientific aspects then I shall discuss it according to Social Stigma in Pakistan. According to Science,
Age is the lifespan of cells. It indicates how much older our cells have grown.
Aging is the sequential cycle of changes that leads to the increase risk of debility, diseases and death.
When a baby is born, it different cells and organs grows. This process of growth is fast in the beginning and become slow at the end of the life.
We all are in the process of aging. During the process of aging we also passes through a state of life we called it adulthood/maturity. These both words have same meaning according to the biology.
Adulthood/maturity is the state of life when we get specific reproductive as well as some physical changes in our body according to our gender in response to specific hormones
Mostly people confused the term adulthood with maturity. These both are different terms and have different meanings according to Psychology and Philosophy. In Pakistan, most of the people get their adulthood at the average age of 18 years. It didn't mean that after getting adultness, these people are also mature in their actions.
Maturity is the stage of life, when a person understand his or her responsibilities, cares about his actions and feels about the factor respect rather than blaming for them to others
Maturity in Pakistan
During my University carrier, once my mother was worried about the decision of my cousin's marriage. I set near to her and asked the reason then she revealed what was disturbing to her. I put forward my suggestions on her problems. Instead of taking my suggestions seriously, she labelled me that I needed to become mature in my words before deciding someone's future. What the hell is this maturity? I was frustrated to hear, then I came to realise that someone with age 30 plus was mature for her. Similar decision was done about the matter from my father and she implemented it accordingly. When I asked the reason for this behaviour from her she tagged me that Aslam, you didn't have enough age and didn't know exactly the exact phases of worst picture of life that your father had passed. Here, I concluded that our exposure to different external factors brings maturity inside us.
In Pakistan although people get their adulthood at the age of 18 years but they are considered mature in their decisions and actions at the age of 30-35 years. During these years, they have to experience different tough situations. This age is late number nowadays to stamp someone mature according to me. As Pakistan is passing through the worst state of inflation hence I have seen that people are getting mature and grooming in their actions and decisions at the age of 25 years. So it is better, we considered someone mature at the age of 25 years. Maturity although didn't depends on our age but depends on our actions, deeds and decisions.
People are very sharp here. They hand over their projects, tasks and works according to the age. Suppose I'm a Doctor. People will have different behaviour for me at different age groups. If my age is 35, they considered me most mature and experienced doctor but if my age is 23 then people will considered me immature and inexperienced doctor. It all depends on people's thinking. We should considered and used the term maturity for someone by observing his or her actions, deeds and decisions. If someone is able to bear the burden of responsibilities then he or she is the most mature person for me either he or she has age 25 or he or she has age 35.

What I deduced from you is that people's definition of maturity should be on the basis of one's action. I totally agree. Responsibility is vital in maturity.
Exactly people' define what they understand for us. They should behave well in labelling someone's mature tag. When we are responsible we are mature. End of the discussion

You made good discussion here. Maturity is not qt all a function of age that is what most of our parents fail to understand. The kind of conditions we are exposed to goes a long way to inform how fast we get matured .

Some tough conditions forced us to get maturity early. When we are facing continuous hardships then I believe we are getting mature so early. People' s scale of maturity should be changed.

I agree with you, because of their actions and decisions, a person can be considered mature or not, it is a concept that is very poorly handled by people, believing that being of legal age is being mature.
People's calibration for maturity is always wrong. Our actions and decisions are strong evidence to consider ourselves mature or not. Thanks!

Absolutely bro, you are saying right. In my opinion, connecting maturity only with age can be incorrect. In reality, a person's maturity is based on their experiences, life situations, and interactions with others. Age is just one factor, but real maturity is evident in their understanding, humanity, and social behavior.
A person looked mature with his experience, behaviour and attitude. All these things made a person more or less mature. We had to change our thinking about it. Thanks
