A Cup of Coffee Before Going to the Hospital

Since a month ago, I have faced several routines that are slightly different from usual. I had to change a few things in my life, complete a lot of notes from specialist doctors to make my life last longer. Everything must be done slowly in order to be a happy healthy person, reduce anything excessive and measure everything that enters the body to reduce the risk of complications.

This morning, before going to the specialist, I took time to have breakfast at a coffee shop not far from my house and still headed towards the hospital. This morning it looks very bright, even hot weather tends to cover the city of Medan today. I parked the car in a courtyard of the Potte House that had just opened, it seemed that the workers were still busy cleaning tables and tidying up the slightly messy glasses.

I ordered a cup of americano and avocado toast which will give my body a lot of energy, because today will be very busy with various series of blood tests and also waiting in line to get treatment from the doctor. I'm a little nervous because I just told my cousin who also has diabetes, he said a lot of things about HBA1C that I will be dealing with today as well.

Actually I was a bit at peace when I found out that I had a history of diabetes, but it turned out that peace only lasted a few moments, and while I was researching diabetes on the internet all day, I became very nervous, until this morning. My heart felt like it was beating really fast, my blood seemed to be flowing fast and my face was a little pale, luckily today I used a very thick lipstick to get rid of that pale face.

I sipped coffee slowly while eating avocado toast which was very aesthetic, each bite slowly entered my mouth. A very convenient breakfast, without the hassle of preparing as usual. I slowly drank my favorite coffee at the moment, without realizing it, the cup of coffee was finished and I had to go and head to the hospital immediately because the specialist doctor's schedule was about to start, I was very lazy to have to queue long if I arrived late.

Arriving at the hospital, I waited for 30 minutes and met with the doctor. Doctor Andri is a patient doctor, he explained many things about the results of the HBA1C test that had come out and said that I was not feeling well. The test results this time made me a little weak, 14.05% is a bad result, the normal is below 6.5% and my results are very far from normal (abnormal) and I have to do a series of blood tests to check the thyroid hormone. I was referred to the laboratory and blood was taken (again) and the doctor will make an observation next week. I have to come back to the hospital next week.

After that, the doctor gave me 2 types of insulin which I had to use every day before eating and before going to bed. A little scary actually, I don't like needles and drugs. After being given a lot of advice from doctors that using insulin is commonplace for diabetics, even insulin is one of the efforts so that I don't have complications and control blood sugar, besides that insulin doesn't have a residue like other medicines.

Now, insulin is a way for me to survive, and also I need coffee to relieve my anxiety, caffeine really affects my life for the better, of course caffeine without sugar, it's much better.

See you the next time hive friends!

Sorry to hear about the test being not so good. I'm glad to hear that there is a solution though, with the insulin shots.

What a sad diagnosis, but don't worry too much about it, sometimes it's more the mental anguish than what actually happens, take your time to assimilate it and try to make changes that can benefit you and help you to be happy despite the problem, I hope you can have a good day :D
