Hello everyone,

This post is no longer related to the celebration of the new year, it's a little late for me to tell you about the excitement of this new year, because I'm a little busy with many things that I have to complete, only then is it time for me to write back and tell the many things that I have.

Today, I want to share a story about the excitement of celebrating the new year, January 1, 2023. This is the first year that our family and I have made visits from house to house, to establish friendship with our families who celebrate Christmas and New Year. After the pandemic ended, it's been 2 years, then we were able to visit several families in good health. To be honest, covid made us afraid to visit because it would violate government regulations.

So, I have several close relatives of different religions. One tradition that was always carried out by my grandfather, we have to visit our family every New Year's celebration. Yes, my grandfather was a male convert, when he was young, my grandfather converted to Islam and then married my grandmother.

Long story, my grandfather used to have no religion, at that time, religion did not yet exist in the village where he lived with his extended family, then my grandfather finally embraced Islam when he heard the recitation of the Koran, but unlike his other families, embraced Protestant Christianity . Even so, the sense of kinship continues to run well and without a hitch.

Thus, it is unique to our family. My grandfather still maintains hospitality even though he has different religions, my grandfather said, even though the gods are different, they are still under the same umbrella, born from the same parents. My grandfather always maintained this friendship until he died, and then every new year or Eid, we visited them and vice versa. Traditions in our family are very different from most other families. To be honest, there are many people who don't understand us, that if we have different religions, the brotherhood will also break up. But that's okay, the difference actually makes us understand that life must go on as it should, just like the left and right feet, they keep moving forward even though they're not the same.

During the new year, we started leaving the house to the aunt's house from 11.00 am, we planned to have lunch at the aunt's house. The really fun thing is, my aunt always cooks very delicious arsik, my aunt is really good at cooking. Not only that, there are some of my favorite cookies provided at my aunt's house.

We didn't just visit my aunt's house, there were also several other relatives' houses, around 5 families we had to visit that day. Even though the sun was very hot, we did not give up. With great joy visiting, then telling a lot of things, eating and laughing.

I've always loved New Years, very rarely do I see fireworks in the middle of the city, one of the reasons is that I'm afraid to wake up too late to go on a long trip to visit my family for New Years. From when I was a teenager, I never went with some friends to see the fireworks, the reason is this. however, I'm not good enough to say it to my friends just yet.

I'm happy, even though this is the first year after 3 years of absence not to have gatherings at New Year's, all of our extended family are healthy, happy and prosperous. Hopefully there will be no more pandemics in the future. I hope so..
