Potte Café and All Day Dining Architecture

Its okay to have a moment in life, to pause, love and rest. We are here, all day long and everyday - Potte Cafe.

I found this sentence in a restaurant on JL Dr Mansyur, Medan. When I was idly looking for a unique restaurant in an application, DealMedan, I found a hidden gem in my city, Potte Café and All Day Dining. As the name implies, this restaurant is different from other restaurants, serving a restaurant that is almost open 24 hours, serving food, from breakfast to dinner.

I visited Potte Café to exchange my breakfast voucher, that morning, the rain was drenching the city of Medan, I thought of having breakfast at Potte Café because at that time I had to go to the hospital for regular check-ups every month, so I didn't want to bother making breakfast because they have to be pressed for time. Fortunately, the discount voucher that I got can be exchanged for breakfast and a cup of coffee.

Potte Café, this is one of the restaurants or cafes that is currently being discussed, very often I see some of my friends visiting this café, he said, this café has a good concept to try, in terms of food or designs made to pamper café visitors. Potte Café has 2 floors in 1 building, you can see it from the front view of the tall building, the brown building is combined with several wooden accents and plants on the second floor.

While parking the car right in front of Potte Café, I entered and was greeted by waiters guarding the door and giving me table and chair options, apparently there were still no visitors this morning. Then I exchanged my voucher, while waiting for the food to come, I took some photos and explored the contents of this café.

Okay, let's discuss the architecture and design of Potte Café a bit, it's very interesting for us to know that this café has its own uniqueness to the concept they present. I saw several Christmas accents, such as leaves from artificial fir trees, red and gold bells displayed in various corners of the cafe, creating a Christmas ambiance that will be celebrated this December. Even so, the addition of a few ornaments and Christmas ornaments did not spoil the beauty of the café.

On the 1st floor, as soon as we enter from the main door, we will see the barista and cashier tables combined, this is the largest space in this restaurant, then there is a glass box that is used to display some of the cakes they sell. I like some of the writing that they display right under the cashier's table, which shows that they are a cafe that is there whenever needed. The use of plants and pots as the main design of this café, I see it in every corner of the cafe, using plants suitable for indoor, such as monstera deliciosa and some plants that are useful for filtering dirty air. This design reminds me of the cafe I've visited before, LKKR.

I sat down on the second floor, eager to see some of the plants on the balcony. A small garden decorated with lots of very fertile plants, usually this balcony is often used to carry out plant arrangement activities. Maybe it's a routine activity that the owner does for the community, because I follow Potte Café's Instagram and often see these posts.

This balcony looks very neat with lots of plants that are well cared for, as well as this balcony is made to protect the plants by using a suitable roof to filter the light coming in but still protect the plants from the strong sunlight, there is also a fan installed on the roof to add fresh air to stay cool. There are several tables arranged neatly, using a table with wood that seems very strong to withstand hot, rainy and cold weather.

On the second floor, almost all corners of the café have transparent black glass that can see the outside view. This glass is also useful for making this building look very spacious. There are also several mirrors that are placed in suitable places, the current trend is that women like to take photos in front of the mirror.

Uniquely, in this café, there are no tables and chairs that are the same, different tables and chairs are used but still solid and harmonious. One of the chairs and table that I like is like the photo below, perfect for sitting while drinking tea with a partner. The chairs look very comfortable and have a good design, combining wood and dark blue sofa cushions.

The addition of several lights that are hidden in the corners of the right gaps, greatly adds to the aesthetic value in this café, there are also lights that are installed around the mirrors and murals on the walls of the café, adding to the impression of a slick luxury. It's not wrong that many people like to be in this cafe. Apart from the long opening hours of the restaurant, the delicious food, the design of the cafe which is so slick and luxurious that it is a big consideration if you go to this cafe, it doesn't hurt to try it, right?
