Unique Buddist Temple In the World: Wat Ratchanatdaram and Loha Prasat
Hello everyone,
There is one interesting thing in the city of Bangkok, which is close to where I live. Yes, I stayed at Khaosan road which is known as a tourist area, as soon as I walked around Khaosan road, I found a place that turned out to be very rarely visited by tourists, even though this temple is very big and magnificent, but maybe not more famous than the Grand Palace or Wat Arun.
Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan, located at 2 Maha Chai Rd, Wat Bowon Niwet, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok, this temple is always open every day from 09.00 am to 05.00 pm. This temple is not far from the Ratchadamnoen Klang bus stop. I also found this place because I got lost and accidentally saw a building that is shaped like a temple in Thailand as usual.
Indeed, getting lost is a way to find a good place, I intend to go to a place I am going to but instead find an interesting hidden gems. I don't regret even though my feet must be in pain from walking so far. Trips like this make me close to the life of the Thai people, which is very far from what I expected.
As you can see in the photo above, this is a temple that has the nickname of the iron temple or metal temple. Loha Prasat is the building in the picture I took, which is one of the buildings in Wat Ratchabatdaram Worawihan. This temple is unique compared to other types of temples, because there are only a few in the world such as in India and Sri Lanka, but until now, Loha Prasat is the only one in the world.
Loha Prasat is an iron castle that has 37 towers, is a philosophy to symbolize virtue and truth. The ground floor of Loha Prasat consists of a labyrinth dedicated to Buddhists or anyone who meditates. Behind the labyrinth, there are many benches dedicated to meditation. Even though the walls looked very narrow and short, there was plenty of wind coming in through the cracks. Really very comfortable and cool.
To enter Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan is free of charge, it's just that you can donate there. This place is very shady, far from the noise of motorized vehicles, so it is perfect for anyone who wants to meditate.
While at Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan, we can only go around on the ground floor. Like I entered the labyrinth inside Loha Prasat castle, this place has a lot of shows. There are so many things that we can learn at Loha Prasat castle, just like the history of Loha Prasat. You can read one by one the displays on the walls of this castle. Many things explained without the need for a guide, all about Loha Prasat very clearly. How did this castle become the only one in the world and who made this castle survive to this day.
Not only that, there are many explanations about Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan and Loha Prasat. Specifically for all tourists so they can understand history and Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan as a whole so they can respect and appreciate each other. This philosophy is also an important part of Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan.
This temple is a royal temple, which was built by King Rama III during his reign. With great pride, this temple also became one of the UNESCO heritages in 2005. Loha Prasat is kept very clean, especially for those who wish to enter into the temple, they are required to remove shoes and wear socks.
The caretaker of the building seems very friendly with everyone, even with the cat that is here, the cat has a necklace around its neck and is seen with a Buddha statue.
There are lots of beautiful spots to see the Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan temple further. Even though it's a hot day, I feel that this temple is a shame not to visit, it's very close to the Victory Monument which can be reached on foot.
You don't have to pay more for a beautiful place like this. I highly recommend Wat Ratchanatdaram Worawihan and Loha Prasat for anyone who wants to vacation in Bangkok. Get to know more about the temples in Thailand and it is the only temple with Metal Castle architecture in the world.
See you the next time hive friends!

Yes, getting lost will complete the travel experience.
I couldn't believe why that temple is rarely visited. It is full of beauty!
Because there are still many famous local temples, there are really a lot and maybe you will be very confused, so this temple is not widely known :)

That temple is beautiful.
It's been a while since the last time I saw you hehe.. Such a great architecture there.
Very good, moreover, this is a royal temple that the kingdom really cares about. What's more, this temple is a UNESCO heritage.
