Typical but equally good Bat stories - Batman: The Long Halloween [ENG/ESP]

Batman is probably one of my favorite fictional characters and not only because he was part of my childhood as I was growing up, but also because he managed to adapt to my current tastes in terms of stories to entertain me for a few minutes. Police, detective, crime and mystery plots are part of my favorite stories for a movie or a series and Batman, besides looking great, has all that; although I don't like reading comics I always enjoy the Bat's stories in two entertainment media, movies and video games, that's why, and taking the opportunity, I bring you my opinion about the movie Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1.
Batman: The Long Halloween is an adaptation of the comic of the same name that talks about a serial killer who only kills on holidays and how Batman has to stop him, a common and ordinary story in the long list of Bat comics but personally I was looking forward to see this story because it explores a more mysterious and detective side of the character that after all is what it is. I haven't read the comic and I don't think I will either but I did find out a little, just a little, about the original work.
The story of this movie begins with the murder of Johnny Viti, nephew of Carmine Falcone, who is found dead in his bathtub and next to him is a gun and a pumpkin, as he is killed on Halloween. The story is nothing out of this world, at least in this first part, we see that there is a serial killer that Batman has to stop but on his way he will also cross paths with other villains at the same time he has to deal with Falcone's mafia.
Plot-wise one of the things I liked was how we are mainly dealing directly with the mafia and then we move on to leave it in the background to focus on Holiday, the serial killer, and maybe they will say it's a mistake but I don't see it that way because even I myself while watching the movie I almost completely forgot about the mafia although it does not disappear completely in the plot, somehow it always remains present.
James Gordon meets with Harvey Dent and Batman to expose the situation that is happening and asks for collaboration on both sides to which we already know that the bat does not like it at all but still does it, after a "chase" with Catwoman, Batman and Dent, arrive at a warehouse of Falcone where they find a lot of money which they burn but not without suffering the consequences, then Dent goes to his house and it explodes; in this part something happens that I can't quite explain, it's an insignificant detail but it's there, Harvey is carrying his partner when the house explodes logically Harvey's partner is the one who should have received more damage but no, all the damage was taken by Harvey, yes I know, something that can go unnoticed but I had to say it.
Batman gives rise to the pursuit of the person responsible for that and gets to Chinatown, giving us the only fight of the film, the fight was good in terms of animation everything is understood and you can follow the movements of the characters, I appreciate this moment of the film because it is true that a story more inclined to the detective side of the hero but a little of that kind of action never hurts.
As any story of the murciela can never miss the appearance of the Joker, who this time has a more unnecessary role in the plot, the Joker escapes from Arkham Asylum only because Holiday is doing his thing and he is the only one who can dominate in Gotham City, at least in this first part of Long Halloween I do not see the appearance of the Joker as important in the story. What I do see ingenious is the way they found for Batman to be at the exact moment when Holiday kills Alberto Falcone on the yacht for New Year's Eve, I don't know how the Joker made Batman think that Alberto Falcone is Holiday but I have to say it was good, weird but good.
For some people the movie may seem a little slow but it had to be that way, being the first part of a story it has to lay the groundwork for a sequel and to do that it becomes a little slow to plot between introducing characters and showing us some of the different sub-plots that are developing. I did some research and this movie has some things that are different from the comic book, I don't want to mention them so as not to get into an argument with people who read the comic book but if you can tell them I will have no problem reading it.
If it is true that the animation changed with respect to what DC had been doing with Justice League: War and all the movies that made up that universe, the animation this time is good, I liked it, when I saw the trailers I was not very convinced but now that I saw the movie I thought it was a good animation especially for the thickness that the lines of the characters have on the outside, it makes the characters manage to differentiate themselves from the scenery. As a first part of a story I found it a good movie, a little quiet for the introduction of the characters but that was necessary at the end of the day, something to keep in mind is that you have to have a little basic knowledge about the universe of the bat as the film does not bother much at the time of introducing the characters.
Good Batman movie that leaves the expectations quite high for its second part, my recommendation is to see it if you like Batman stories and if not also, although I would not recommend it to start in the world of the bat.

Probablemente Batman es uno de mis personajes ficticios favoritos y no solo porque formó parte de mi infancia a medida que iba creciendo, sino porque también logro adaptarse a mis gustos actuales en lo que refiere historias para entretenerme por unos minutos. Las tramas policías, de detectives, crímenes y misterios forman parte de mis historias preferidas para una película o una serie y Batman, aparte de verse genial, cuenta con todo eso; aunque no me gusta leer comics siempre disfruto de las historias del murciélago en dos medios de entretenimiento, películas y videojuegos, por eso, y tomando la oportunidad, les traigo mi opinión sobre la película Batman: The Long Halloween Parte 1.
Batman: The Long Halloween es una adaptación del comic del mismo nombre que habla sobre un asesino en serie que solamente asesina en días festivos y cómo Batman tiene que detenerlo, una historia común y corriente en la larga lista de comics del murciélago pero personalmente tenía muchas ganas de ver esta historia porque explora un lado más de misterio y detectivesco del personaje que al fin y al cabo es lo que es. El comic no lo he leído y tampoco creo que lo haga pero si me informe un poco, solo un poco, sobre la obra original.
La historia de esta película comienza con el asesinado de Johnny Viti, sobrino de Carmine Falcone, el cual es encontrado muerto en su bañera y a su lado está una pistola y una calabaza, ya que es asesinado en Halloween. La historia no es nada del otro mundo, por lo menos en esta primera parte, vemos que hay un asesino en serie al cual Batman tiene que detener pero en su camino también se cruzará con otros villanos al mismo tiempo que tiene que lidiar con la mafia de Falcone.
Argumentalmente una de las cosas que me gusto fue como principalmente estamos tratando directamente con la mafia y luego pasamos a dejarla en un segundo plano para centrarnos en Holiday, el asesino en serie, y a lo mejor dirán que es un error pero no lo veo de esa forma porque hasta yo mismo mientras veía la película me olvide casi por completo de la mafia aunque no desaparece del todo en la trama, de alguna forma siempre se mantiene presente.
James Gordon se reúne con Harvey Dent y Batman para exponerles la situación que está ocurriendo y pide colaboración por ambas partes a lo cual ya sabemos que al murciélago no agrada del todo pero igual lo hace, luego de una “persecución” con Gatubela, Batman y Dent, llegan a un almacén de Falcone donde se encuentra un motón de dinero el cual queman pero no sin sufrir la consecuencias, seguidamente Dent va a su casa y esta explota; en esta parte pasa algo que no termino de explicarme, es un detalle insignificante pero que está ahí, Harvey está cargando a su pareja cuando la casa explota lógicamente la pareja de Harvey es la que más daño debería haber recibido pero no, todo el daño se lo llevo Harvey, sí lo sé, algo que puede pasar desapercibido pero tenía que decirlo.
Batman da pie a la persecución de la persona responsable de eso y llega hasta el barrio chino, dándonos la única pelea de la película, la pelea estuvo buena en cuanto a animación todo se entiende y se logra seguir los movimientos de los personajes, agradezco este momento de la película porque si es cierto que una historia más inclinada al lado detective del héroe pero un poco de ese tipo de acción nunca viene mal.
Como toda historia del murciélago nunca puede faltar la aparición del Joker, quien en esta ocasión tiene un rol más innecesario en la trama, el Joker se escapa del Asilo Arkham solo porque Holiday está haciendo de las suyas y él es el único que puede dominar en Ciudad Gótica, por lo menos en esta primera parte de Long Halloween no veo la aparición del Joker tan importante en la historia. Lo que si veo ingenioso es la forma que encontraron para que Batman estuviera en el momento exacto cuando Holiday asesina a Alberto Falcone en el yate para vísperas de año nuevo, no sé cómo el Joker hizo para que Batman pensara que Alberto Falcone es Holiday pero tengo que decir que estuvo bien, raro pero bien.
Para algunas personas la película puede parecer un poco lenta pero es que tenía que ser así, por ser la primera parte de una historia tiene que colocar las bases para una secuela y hacer eso se vuelve un poco lento para trama entre presentar personajes y mostrarnos las algunas de las diferentes sub-tramas que se están desarrollando. Me informe un poco y esta película tiene algunas cosas diferentes al comics, no quiero mencionarlas para no entrar en discusión con la personas que leyeron el comic pero si ustedes pueden decirlas no tendré ningún problema en leerla.
Si es cierto que la animación cambio con respecto a la que DC venía llevando con Justice League: War y todas las películas que conformaban ese universo, la animación en esta ocasión está bien, me gusto, cuando vi los trailers no me convenció mucho pero ahora que vi la película si me pareció una buena animación sobre todo por el grosor que las líneas de los personajes tienen a su exterior, hace que los personajes logren diferenciarse del escenario. Como primera parte de una historia me pareció una buena película, un poco tranquila por la introducción de los personajes pero que era necesario a fin de cuentas, algo que hay que tener presente es que tienes que tener un poco de conocimiento básico sobre el universo del murciélago ya que la película no se molesta mucho al momento de presentar a los personajes.
Buena película de Batman que deja la expectativas bastante en alto para su segunda parte, mi recomendación es que la vean si les gusta las historias de Batman y si no también, aunque no la recomendaría iniciarse en el mundo del murciélago.
