Some time ago in the commercial world, as I understand, first a movie is released and based on its success decided to make a game based on that movie and as examples we have many to look at, the Batman movies with Christian Bale, Spider-man with Tobey Maguire and even the Lord of the Rings also have video game adaptations of their adaptations of the big screen. But this time it happens differently, Uncharted video games are very good, with a great story, mechanics and charismatic characters that will stay in your memory or heart it all depends; this time we will look at Uncharted: Off the Map starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg.

In my first conclusions about the movie, I didn't have high hopes for it, since most of the time this kind of productions are not very good. Although when I saw the trailer it managed to capture my attention in a way, not expecting much, just another movie about a video game but to my surprise, I liked it. I mean, it's not as bad as I thought, it's true that it has its things, I'll explain later what I didn't like, but for a movie based on a video game it's not bad at all.

The first thing to highlight is that the story is not taken from the video games, I mean it is not an adaptation specifically, they made an effort to make their own story about their treasure hunt and I liked that. It is not just another adaptation and you can appreciate the effort they made for their own story; this time we see how everything starts, the relationship between Nathan, Sully and Chloe, also from the beginning they tell us that Nathan has a brother, which in the video games they don't mention him until Uncharted 4, or at least that I remember since I haven't played it yet as well as Uncharted 3.

In this occasion, Victor Sullivan finds Nate in a bar and recruits him for his treasure hunt, Nate accepts because he believes he can find his brother, Sam, since he was with Sully. From here begins the whole story of the movie, which is full of mysteries, traps, betrayals, adventures and action. The story is not bad, considering that it is not an adaptation of the video games but rather a prologue to them, and in a way it is very cool that it is so.

The movie is full of adventure and action, just like in the games, but there are also emotional moments that will not break your heart or make you cry but they are there and it is appreciated that they give space to this kind of situations. The special effects are good but on certain occasions you can notice that they are special effects, and these occasions I can count on the fingers of one hand and there would be fingers left over, in other words and without getting too complicated, there are very, very few occasions in which the visual effects fail a little. The film maintains its rhythm, there are constant situations where the characters are in trouble, then comes a certain calm and repeats the same thing with some other exceptions, but it doesn't feel repetitive at any time, as far as this is concerned.

I think the thieves plot played against it a bit, since they are almost always betraying each other over and over again, it's the bread and butter of the movie. It's good that they are in that constant mystery and fear to see who betrays who but in the end it gets a little repetitive. The actors do an excellent job in each of their roles, Tom Holland is charismatic and almost always has something to say just like Nathan does in the video games, as for Sully, I don't know why, but I noticed him a little different in the movie than his version in the video games, but I don't emphasize it much since I haven't played Uncharted 3 which is where he gets to know a little more about how Nate and Sully met.

The participation of the "villain" was what I liked the least, he doesn't have much screen time and to complete he is murdered, I don't know, I didn't get the impression that he could do much in the story but I thought he was a bad villain, and the real villain is better but I'm not convinced at all, something doesn't convince me, I don't like it at all. I was expecting something more "big" from the villain's plans or his participation in the movie.

In Uncharted: Off the Map, it was expected to be full of references to video games and in that it complies in all aspects, we have references to Naughty Dog, the same costumes of Nathan, in each of his excursions to look for gold brings clothes that the character wears in the video game, we have the cameo of the actor who gives voice to Nathan in the video games and his little talk makes reference to video games. Almost everything in a reference to video games and it is logical since it is based on that.

Uncharted: Off the Map is a good movie about a video game that brings its own story and can serve as a prologue, a little, has action and adventure, betrayals, the soundtrack is good at times we managed to hear the video game, they have everything we can appreciate in video games, that and more betrayals.

My recommendation is to watch it, it's good to pass the time and see a little of what is Uncharted if you have not played the saga of the famous treasure hunter Nathan Drake. See you next time : )

Hace un tiempo en el mundo comercial, según tengo entendido, primero se estrena una película y en base a su éxito decidían hacer un juego basado en esa película y como ejemplos tenemos muchos de donde fijarnos, las películas de Batman con Christian Bale, Spider-man con Tobey Maguire ya hasta el Señor de los Anillos también tienes adaptaciones de videojuegos de sus adaptaciones de la gran pantalla. Pero en esta ocasión ocurre de forma distinta, los videojuegos de Uncharted son muy buenos, con una gran historia, mecánicas y personajes carismáticos que se quedaran en tu memoria o corazón todo depende; en esta ocasión nos fijaremos en Uncharted: Fuera del Mapa protagonizada por Tom Holland y Mark Wahlberg.

En mis primeras conclusiones sobre la película, no le tenía muchas esperanzas, ya que casi la mayoría del tiempo este tipo de producciones no son muy buenas que digamos. Aunque cuando vi el tráiler logró captar mi atención de cierta forma, no espera mucho, solo una película más sobre un videojuego pero para mi sorpresa, me gustó. Digo, no es tan mala como creía, sí es cierto que tiene sus cosas, que más adelante les explicare que fue lo que no me gustó, pero para ser una película basada en un videojuego no está nada mal.

Lo primero a resaltar es que la historia no es tomada de los videojuegos, me refiero a que no es una adaptación concretamente, se esforzaron en realizar una historia propia sobre su búsqueda del tesoro y eso me gustó. No es una adaptación más y se aprecia el esfuerzo que hicieron por su propia historia; en esta ocasión vemos como todo comienza, la relación entre Nathan, Sully y Chloe, también de entrada nos dicen que Nathan tiene un hermano, que en los videojuegos no lo mencionan sino hasta Uncharted 4, o por lo menos que yo me acuerde ya que no lo he jugado todavía al igual que Uncharted 3.

En esta ocasión, Víctor Sullivan encuentra a Nate en un bar y lo recluta para su búsqueda del tesoro, Nate acepta porque cree que puede encontrar a su hermano, Sam, ya que él estaba con Sully. A partir de aquí empieza toda la historia de la película, la cual está llena de misterios, trampas, traiciones, aventuras y acción. La historia no está mal, teniendo en cuenta que no es una adaptación de los videojuegos sino más bien como un prólogo a ellos, y de cierta forma está muy cool que sea así.

La película está llena de aventura y acción, tal como en los juegos, pero también hay momentos emotivos que no te romperán el corazón ni te harán llorar pero están ahí y se aprecia que le den espacio a este tipo de situaciones. Los efectos especiales son bueno pero en ciertas ocasiones se notan que son efectos especiales, y estás ocasiones las puedo contar con los dedos de una mano y sobrarían dedos, en otras palabras y sin complicarme tanto, son muy pero muy pocas las ocasiones en los que los efectos visuales fallan un poco. La película mantiene su ritmo, están en constante situaciones en donde los personajes están en apuros luego viene cierta calma y se repite lo mismo con alguna que otra salvedad, pero no se siente repetitiva en ningún momento, en cuanto a esto.

Creo que la trama de ladrones le jugó un poco en contra, ya que casi siempre se están traicionando una y otra vez, es el pan de cada día en la película. Está bien que estén en ese constante misterio y miedo por ver quién traiciona a quién pero al final se vuelve un poco repetitivo. Los actores hacen un excelente trabajo en cada uno de sus papeles, Tom Holland en carismático y casi siempre tiene algo que decir tal como la hace Nathan en los videojuegos, en cuanto a Sully, no sé por qué, pero lo noté un poco diferente en la película a su versión en los videojuegos, pero tampoco lo recalco mucho ya que no he jugado Uncharted 3 que es donde se da a conocer un poco más como se conocieron Nate y Sully.

La participación del “villano” fue lo que menos me gustó, no tiene mucho tiempo en pantalla y para completar lo asesinan, no sé, tampoco me daba la impresión de que pudiera hacer mucho en la historia pero me pareció un mal villano, y la verdadera villana es mejor pero no me convence del todo, algo no me termina de gustar. Esperaba algo más “grande” por parte de los planes del villano o de su participación en la película.

En Uncharted: Fuera del mapa, era de esperarse que estuviera llena de referencias a los videojuegos y en eso cumple en todos los aspectos, tenemos referencias a Naughty Dog, el mismo vestuario de Nathan, en cada una de sus excursiones por buscar el oro trae ropa que el personaje usa en el videojuego, tenemos el cameo del actor que le da voz a Nathan en los videojuegos y su pequeña charla hace referencia a los videojuegos. Casi todo en una referencia los videojuegos y es lógico puesto se basa en eso.

Uncharted: Fuera del Mapa es una buena película sobre un videojuego que aporta su propia historia y que puede servir de prólogo, un poco, tiene acción y aventura, traiciones, la banda sonora es buena en ocasiones logramos escuchar la del videojuego, tienen todo lo que podemos apreciar en los videojuegos, eso y más traiciones.

Mi recomendación es que la vean, está buena para pasar el rato y ver un poco de lo que es Uncharted si no han jugado la saga del famoso caza tesoros Nathan Drake. Hasta la próxima : )
