AteXoras 🍻 Pub Gathering - Relax, relax and relax, but a new beginning is being forged!

(Edited)
Authored by @forykw

This Pub will open weekly on the Pubs Community with the purpose of acting as a place to meet, socialize, exchange information, get free stuff, you get the idea for HIVE's sake!

We also have a Live Scratch Paper where you can find all the current up-to-date information about this project.

(made by @swayzilla and donated via NFT Showroom)

πŸ₯‡ ❗THE GATHERING❗

On the last gathering we scoped an attempt to get something moving, and since it takes time for these to get into the brain... for newcomers that didn't yet know about the Pub or simply people returning from vacations, check the previous gathering. πŸ‘

We are interested in feedback on the part about "The Pub Changes!".

The Pub BEE

Simply because it has been quite a while, and to remind people that the Pub is gathering BEE for a couple of upcoming parties. More in the Live Scratch Paper. Thanks to @atexoras.witness that has been sending quite a lot of BEE lately. The picture changed dramatically with the new local HIVE node.

Things should go even quicker, now that the Pub is open again. 🀞 This gathering rewards are not yet re-invested into BEE. They will be converted before the next one.

image.png

Comparing last week's (above) stake with after the added liquidity from today (below)!

image.png

You may ask, why has the Pub chosen this pair to "store" the BEE... and the answer to it is to help with the SPS Airdrop... for future plans, yet to be unveiled.

image.png

For this reason, the Pub has restarted staking all received SPS (generated mostly from the BEE:DEC pair). We are undecided if you all would like the Pub to run a collective witness in the future. This will split rewards and be maintained among users. The idea is still very vague... but up there for commenting and feedback.

If there is enough interest to go ahead, we might do the same strategy as the previous year SPS giveaway, where people participating with SPS (since it can't be delegated yet, not that we know it will be possible even) can allocate a percentage of the node rewards. If something would take effect, then it would have a curation period of at least 30 days (meaning you would only win rewards if you wait 30 days with your SPS at the Pub stake).

This is still in brainstorming mode. And for now, will be a "trust" thing to explore. Not really the best way to promote decentralization... but the aim is to allow more people to participate in a sort of witnessing situation and learn with it. Tasks and responsibilities would need to be shared as well. If during the process, people want to quit, that will be allowed, obviously.

@threespeak Snapshot!

It happened folks (on the 6th January of 2022). For more information and updated news of the next steps, check https://spk.network and both the @spknetwork and the @threespeak accounts.

(source)

There is lots of potential here and the Pub will encourage streamers to contact the Pub for extra exposure when possible. Let's join efforts and bring the word of HIVE to even more users. Explaining along the way what we can and also helping one another whenever possible. We might not all have possibilities, but all joined up, we can create mega evolutions.

More into this when there is more information about the "claim drop".

Pub Admins DLUX.io Witness (the beginning)

Previously, the Pub has occasionally helped @atexoras.witness with some DLUX although the amount has not been significant (especially when comparing with the amount of BEE returned to the Pub). And because the amount of DLUX held by @atexoras.witness is already enough, @forykw has communicated that he will be suspending the BEE/DLUX cooperation, and therefore we will be starting something new for the Pub users instead.

We need something like between 2000 and 3500 DLUX (at the moment, but might change) to actively participate in the witnessing part, using the Pub account. Otherwise, it will be very random (and likely low on rewards) and also depends on other witnesses.

(provided by @hivetrending and the @pizza.witness team) πŸ‘† (click the image)

Because the Pub needs 4 Admins distributed around the planet, each will have its % rewards of the witness with the amount contributed. This will be the starting point of the Pub Admins recruitment.

image.png

If you wish to understand a bit more about the rewards, have a look at @dlux-io account posts.

This will be an experimental "Admin recruitment" process with the main purpose being the stimulation of interest by others for either being an Admin of the Pub and/or assuming other responsibilities.

For now, @forykw will not charge any costs for actually running the node (although it must be understood that this will be a best-effort task).

At any time if an "individual" wishes to exit the Admin role, this should be communicated at any active gathering and her/his DLUX will be unstaked (4 weeks) and returned to its owner.

(at the discretion of the remaining Pub Admins, with a quorum, currently only @forykw, this can be withdrawn and funds will be returned to its owners)

Rewards Example

Let's imagine that no one wishes to contribute lots and that the Pub will continue the very rare rewards. So, for example, @forykw currently has 1 DLUX staked into DLUXG... so he will get 100% of the rewards. If there would be 2 DLUXG staked by 2 Admins, then it would be 50% for each of them. And so on... up to a total of 5 Admins.

Process

Send any amount of DLUX to the pub account (@atexoras.pub) via https://www.dlux.io and add in the memo "shared witness experiment". Comment on the active gathering that you wish to onboard as an Admin and current Admins will validate your transaction.

Then, @forykw or other Admins will lock that amount into DLUXG and you will get any equivalent rewards the week after.

These will be updated into the Live Scratch Paper when there are candidates validated as well into the positions advertised on Discord.

Entitlements of Admins

This will be the most important part, where Admins will be able to share the strategy of the Pub and vote with quorum accordingly (for now via Discord private channel) and then announced publicly on the next gathering. The Admins will be granted active key authority.

The Owner will remain @forykw which for now will remain impartial for disputes and ask for other admins' opinions. But in the event of such will have full power to change keys and protect the Pub's security. Hopefully, that will never be needed.

(This is why HIVE has such amazing high-security mechanisms against other chains)

🎁 Active #Giveaways

This section will be used to register the status of running giveaways initiatives.

So other than another busy week of work and some how being able to avoid covid for the time being now that all the boarder are open. I took some positions on Beeswap and added some liquidity to a couple of the pools. No real research but was happy to just do a few test amounts into the pools I have heard the most about and seemed to be paying some rewards.
Swap.hive:DEC
Swap.hive:LEO
BEE:Swap.HBD
I am thinking I would be better off just concentrating on building my hive power in my wallet but this feels like good learning and a bit of fun.
Its going to take me a while to get my head around this weeks pub gatherings information but I think I sort of get the basics.
You need Dlux to run Atexoras.pub as a node/witness. Which then does work verifying blocks on the hive chain and then returns some rewards to the investors?

covid for the time being now that all the boarder are open

😱 New waves are incoming then... here not too crappy yet, even with the high vaccination.

No real research but was happy to just do a few test amounts into the pools I have heard the most about and seemed to be paying some rewards.

The trick is to look for high APR projects initially and invest long-term because of the % bonus you will gain in shares (which will get you more rewards). But before committing, you need to think if you are going to stay there on that pair for a long time. Because the moment you remove liquidity, your bonus goes away with the respective quantity. High-risk projects have usually higher APR but they can fail or become unprofitable for some reason. It's a long-game thing. Using SWAP.HIVE ones have some level of stability because of the price of HIVE is quite stable.

I am thinking I would be better off just concentrating on building my hive power in my wallet but this feels like good learning and a bit of fun.

πŸ‘ the idea is mostly of people that like it and wish to learn. Don't spend time on it if that's just making a mess of things to go through every day. 😎 that's how I learned for me.

Its going to take me a while to get my head around this weeks pub gatherings information but I think I sort of get the basics.

You can suggest any topics you wish to see here. Will help me build stuff.

You need Dlux to run Atexoras.pub as a node/witness. Which then does work verifying blocks on the hive chain and then returns some rewards to the investors?

To run the node you only need a Linux machine and at least 1 DLUXG staked. But since this account is meant to be for the good of people visiting the Pub, I am proposing (experimenting) a shared format of witness (with my guidance) so that people can participate with minimal skills and get some (in this case) DLUX. Although, once the number of witnesses/nodes increases it will be harder to get rewards. Currently, there are very few and this is why sometimes the Pub gets rewards.

The other idea of it is to sort of incentive others to start their own nodes. If they can... and I think it's already working =)

Well, as times goes on I understand even less of the conversation in here, not more. DLUX, BEES, NFTs, it's like a foreign language to me πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ But I'm not fussed. I don't need to understand everything. Instead, how about I just tell you about my week?

Our state border has just opened which means we'll have more and more people coming into Queensland bringing Covid19 with them. This is concerning but also, you know, life. It motivates me to continue to prioritise my health.

We ran at a new parkrun yesterday about 2 hours from now. That makes for my 118th different one (which is significant as many only do one or two or three close to them). Brad and I both ran well. The volunteers were particularly lovely and inviting. I definitely like some parkruns more than others and if this one wasn't 2 hours away I'd happily do it regularly. Cross country and multi lap. Toilets and water fountains and play equipment, with ample parking; everything you could want in a parkrun.

I'm doing a gut health course currently where I'm learning about the (gut) microbiome--the 38 trillion bugs in our bellies--and what it's going to take for me to be truly healthy. I'm so grateful for everything I'm learning and I can see it's going to be a process. All worth it in my mind for good health is the foundation I need to improve my running, have energy for adventures, grow my business and creatively express myself on Hive and other platforms.

More news, my little bro (all 6' 4'' of him 🀣) and his wife had their first baby, literally just a couple of days ago. I'm delighted for them. All are healthy and well, and they're adjusting and learning together how to do this new thing called a totally different life.

Hmmm, what else? We're making plans for how/when we'll travel interstate to see my family. I haven't seen most of my closest family members for almost 10 months and since I used to live in the same city as most of them and see a few of them either every day or every other week it's a long time for me to see them. I'm so glad that I live with my love (Brad) and 900km from some of my other, most beloved peeps is a long way.

I wonder what life and travel will look like a year from now? Will this get easier? Less daunting? Will I feel more confident to travel more broadly when my gut (and therefore my immune system) is much healthier and stronger? I do so hope πŸ™

Hope you're all keeping well πŸ€—

fb_img_1642217696852.jpgThat's me, smiling in the purple shirt, running at parkrun. Brad is... way off ahead of me somewhere :P (Photo by a volunteer at parkrun)

If you post about this, I wanna read. Ping me if I forget or let us know here on the pub the link for it.

I have started 2022 changing some stuff about my body too. Going well so far. The motivation is super!

I'm so glad that I live with my love (Brad) and 900km from some of my other, most beloved peeps is a long way.

Not far ago I just did 900km (on way) in a straight driving trip for vacations... then back a few days later.

Life, hopefully, will get better because the incentive is higher and higher, the more science finds new ways to deal with the damn diseases.

How many calories do you guys do on those runs... out of curiosity?

I am sure whatever they are they might melt any !BEER !WINE or even a !PIZZA

Stay !ALIVE girl and don't worry about the complexity of things about blockchain. Eventually, these become easier and more standard to understand. Everything changes too fast for us to be able to catch all kinds of evolutions. I share and learn about what I like. That's the reason I wanted to encourage some others to contribute with topics to be explored on the Pub, so I or any others help expand, and then I was even proposing a little reward as incentivisation. Might not be much now, but as the Pub expands, it will become bigger and bigger.

Thanks for all the tokens @forykw! πŸ™
I definitely enjoy my beer, wine and pizza in the online pub! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜

I will eventually post one or more things about gut health and increasing energy + supporting the immune system. I don't know how long it will take me. For now I can tell you, if you like reading, check out "Fiber Fueled" by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz (from the U.S.) & "The proof is in the plants" by Simon Hill (from Aust.) or search for their names and you'll find their Instagram accounts and websites for more videos and other content formats.

Basically, the short version is this:

When it comes to diet alone (i.e. excluding the important things like good quality sleep, reducing stress, moving the body, etc that also contribute to better health and vitality) the higher the consumption of whole foods that come from plants, the better.

So regardless of what your diet looks like now if you can (slowly, gently) increase the volume and diversity of plants you're eating--and thereby decrease the amount of ultra processed foods and animal products you eat--you're moving in the right direction.

You don't have to become vegan (unless you want to). You don't have to give up beer, wine and pizza (unless you want to πŸ˜‚). But you do, we all do, need to move towards eating more plants as part of our every day diet.

Note: Not a doctor. Please do your own study. But this is a summary of what the majority of really good nutritional research for decades has been pointing to: plants πŸŒΏπŸŒ±πŸƒ

Nice to know. I think I knew that part already. It’s true that simpler nutrients help on a much healthier diet.

And I love plants too. And fruit… and meat, and fish… and beer and wine and processed foods and… damit… so hard when you have little u don’t like 🀣 !LOL

Keep dropping by with the cool stuff.

Speaking of calories... A 5km easy run seems to burn about 350 Calories. A couple of recent 12km harder faster runs I did burnt 807 and 950 Calories on each. I am not sure if my Watch uses the wrist heart rate monitor in its calculations but I am thinking it must, as the calories stats seem vary more than just the time and distant. Wrist base heart monitors are not very accurate.

Either way we don't use the calories stats much, we just try to eat as clean as possible.

I had been trying to improve my diet for years, unsuccessfully until I met Caroline. Now slowly have been improving things one step at a time. Coca-Cola and beer, to coffee, and now less coffee and more green smoothies. A bit of a shock to your taste buds but you get used to it.

I also work in the food industry I know what stuff there adding to all the processed foods.

We're looking at adding more veggies and less meat to eat meal and actively looking at ingredients lists on food packaging because in Australia they have to list the ingredients in order from highest to lowest percentage. If the first two items aren't real foods or there are too many ingredients that we don't know what the hell they are, we try for an alternative.

Yeah, adding more things that grow in the land, does make a huge difference over just a few days. People just need to try. Also, it regulates hunger a lot more than I expected, and I am not a huge appetite person. Just like food in general.

It was ran through a place in the cbd, they are world wide though. They give you a very quick run down of various languages, I learnt, ruby on rails, JavaScript, the MERN stack and various others. Very amazed at how it all works, but heavily intetested to move on to crypto now.
The place was called Coder Academy.

JavaScript is heavily used on HIVE. If you grasped the initial complexity of how HIVE works (keys, authorizations, votes, etc).

Most of it (definitions and some documentation) can be found here:
https://developers.hive.io/

Not everything is 100% up to date... but mostly is.

Any questions, push them here or there... and I can help.
