Evolving Shadow and Purified Pokémon for the Pokédex

In there I already purified a lot of shadow Pokémon. But I've also been keeping some more from other Pokémon to work on getting them Shadow and Purified in the different Pokédex. Here is a screenshot of my Shadow Pokédex.

Not the complete one, but it gives a little overview. As you can see there are many evolutions still missing.

When it comes to the starters, I don't really have any of them at all. Honestly I recently did encounter a few, especially Charmander, from Rocket Grunts, but with the bad stats immediately transferred them thinking that I still had some. But I only have a Charmander I guess. For their Purified ones I definitely have none. Only Bulbasaur is completed evolved to Purified Venusaur because I had one that could become a 100% IV after purifying. Which, back then, I did. In the screenshot I looked for all Pokémon from Pokédex numbers #1 through #9 that are purified and only Venusaur shows up.

Sometime between having that Purified Venusaur into a 100% I had changed my mind that maybe I'd keep them as Shadow Pokémon even if they have high enough IVs to purify into a 100%. I have for example these two Nidoran♀ that can be purified into 100% IVs. As I have two I might actually purify one and keep one as Shadow.

I had multiple Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂ that I still kept. So I evolved one all the way into Shadow Nidoqueen to get the evolution. That's the first row in this next image. Then I purified one of my other Nidoran♀ and evolved it all the way to Nidoqueen.

As you can see in the last row I had 3 Shadow Nidoran♂. First I evolved on into Nidoking. Then I purified the one that's in the middle of the bottom row and evolved that one into Nidoking.

This way I have both of their evolutions lines Shadow and Purified in the Pokédex.

Now up for Sandshrew and Psyduck. I was keeping several of them already. I evolved one for Shadow Sandslash and Shadow Golduck. After that I purified one of the others and evolved it too. Then I transferred all of them except the Shadow Psyduck with a favorite because it has quite high stats.

Up next I chose for the Oddish family. With this one I'm not keeping it to Kanto only Pokémon, because in gen 2 in the Johto region Gloom got a second evolution where it can evolve into Bellossom. Because of this it's a bit more tricky to get all of them Shadow and Purified in the Pokédex. The best way to do this is to have 3 Shadow Oddish, up to two of them can be Gloom. I'm glad I kept a few because they were recently taken out of the Rocket Grunt lineup.

I started by evolving one of them all the way into Vileplume, then I purified the Vileplume to have Purified Vileplume. After that I evolved one into Bellossom and purified it for Purified Bellossom. This way you have both end evolutions Shadow and Purified. Now you can purify the third Oddish and then evolve it into Gloom. Now you have all 4 of them purified in the Pokédex. The Oddish that I purified and then evolved into Gloom is all the way on the right in this screenshot.

For Abra I also kept a few. I evolved one of them all the way into Alakazam. Then purified one of the other Abra and evolved that one into Alakazam as well.

I already purified Exeggcute several times in the past for tasks that required to purify a Shadow Pokémon when I didn't have any that cost 1000 Stardust to purify in my storage. But I never evolved a purified one into Exeggutor. I still had one Shadow Exeggcute left in my storage that I could purify. I evolved it first, even if I already had Shadow Exeggutor, and then I purified it.

For Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan I've been keeping a few too. In these screenshots you can see my best Shadow Hitmonchan, which I'm keeping. The Shadow Hitmonlee that's been favourited is staying too, I just don't seem to have taken a screenshot of its stats. I looked in the Pokédex and had already purified Hitmonchan, but not Hitmonlee. So I purified one Hitmonlee which is included in the photo.

After that I transferred all the other Shadow Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan, keeping just one of both.

This has cleared up a few of the Shadow Pokémon I've been keeping in my storage, and brings a few more into the Shadow and Purified Pokédex. I'm going to have to keep some of the starters if I encounter them to work on having their evolution lines Shadow and Purified too. Charmander should be the easiest because you can encounter Charmander and Charmeleon from Grunts. The other two not as much because in their evolutions its only Ivysaur and Wartortle, which can be in the second place of the Rocket Grunts lineup. Those have a much lower chance to appear as encounter after defeating the Rocket Grunt with them in their lineup.

I'll try to evolve and purify some more of those that I've been keeping sometime later in the week or so.
