In a few days Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl are releasing on Nintendo Switch. I'm personally not sure if I'll get them yet, as I haven't really played on my Switch lately. But it definitely brings back some memories! I'm actually looking forward to see gameplay from the underground exploring parts. I think it'll look amazing in the new games.

The celebration event in Pokémon GO will last from 16 Novemer 10 am local time through 21 November 8 pm local time. 3 days of celebration for Brilliant Diamond and 3 days for Shining Pearl.

Niantic is doing a great job lately of giving great overviews with almost everything that's active in the event. I'll talk about some of them, and will include all of the Field Research Tasks with encounters.

This event has a 1/2 Incubator Distance for the free Incubator and regular ones and a 1/3 Super Incubator Distance. That seems quite great, considering 7 km Eggs will contain only Baby Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, and those are Pokémon we can only get from Eggs. In the blog post Niantic shows Budew, Bonsly, Happiny, Mime Jr. and Riolu as 7 km Egg hatches. Mime Jr. is normally a regional Pokémon, but will be in 7 km Eggs for this event worldwide. Only 7 km Eggs obtained after the start of the event will count.

Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup wearing Lucas's hat will be appearing in the wild for the Brilliant Diamond part and then Turtwig, Chimchar and Piplup wearing Dawn's hat will appear in the wild for the Shining Pearl part.

There is a Collection Challenge to capture all 6 of these. It gives some XP, Stardust and an encounter with Froslass.

November 16 through November 18

• Catch 2 Turtwig : Dawn's Hat Turtwig
• Catch 2 Chimchar : Dawn's HatChimchar
• Catch 2 Piplup : Dawn's Hat Piplup
• Trade a Pokémon : Burmy (Sandy Cloak or Trash Cloak)
• Win a Raid : Bagon
• Win a Level 3 or Higher Raid : Shieldon

November 18 through November 21

• Catch 2 Turtwig : Lucas's Hat Turtwig
• Catch 2 Chimchar : Lucas's HatChimchar
• Catch 2 Piplup : Lucas's Hat Piplup
• Trade a Pokémon : Burmy (Plant Cloak or Trash Cloak)
• Win a Raid : Larvitar
• Win a Level 3 or Higher Raid : Cranidos

That wraps it up for the Field Research Tasks. If the tasks change for the Shining Pearl part of the event I'll give it an update.
