Spring Into Spring 2021 event recap - Snivy Community Day on April 11

Ahoy, I've been a bit busy again so I didn't get to write a blog post about the Spring Into Spring event just yet. This event brought us some new flower crown Pokémon, being Happiny, Chansey and Blissey with flower crowns. I believe Buneary had a flower crown last year, but didn't have one this year. I also don't have one as I guess I transferred them last year. Unless I was mistaken and it never had one. I do know for sure Togepi had a flower crown last year, as I hatched a 100% IV during that event which can't evolve. Togepi didn't have it either this year. Pikachu and Eevee still do, luckily.

As I was kinda busy during the event, I couldn't always play much. But that's not the only thing that stopped me from playing much either. On Monday and Tuesday we suddenly had snow?!! There were so many moments that snow suddenly started falling down, that even when I had time to play I didn't go for many walks.

With this event there was a Collection Challenge again, which had been a little while since we had one. This time it required evolution as well, which is the first time a Collection Challenge for everyone has included that. Of course during Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto, we had one that also required evolving Pokémon to complete one of them. It was Bunnelby that needed to be evolved, as I didn't have Diggersby yet, I evolved one at the end of the event to get the Pokédex registry too. Azumarill had to be obtained from either Raids or completing the event task "Catch 15 Exeggcute".

Throughout the event I was able to get some Shiny Pokémon. I managed to get a Shiny Chansey with the flower crown! On Tuesday with the Buneary spotlight hour I was just at home because of the snow, activating an Incense. I was able to get a Shiny Buneary. Later in the event I was able to encounter 2 Shiny Exeggcute too, on two separate days. I didn't have them yet, only had Shiny Alolan Exeggutor. Now I can have the whole family.

As I was able to play less often, I also didn't hatch as many eggs. In the ones I did hatch I never found a Happiny unfortunately. It seems like several people I know were unable to find one either. So it's really unfortunate how low of a chance Happiny seemed to have for hatching :(
