Is the hype really worth it?

Over the past few months, the youths in Nigeria have been energetic and political more than ever before, even those that weren’t interested in politics before have now joined hands to push the agenda of getting permanent voters card (PVC) in the country all in the support of Peter Obi, who’s a presidential candidate for the upcoming presidential election 2023. Honestly, I think this is the first time they’ve been seriousness and cooperation between the youths in terms of choosing one particular candidate as a choice for president, except I’m mistaken.

Truth be told I love the energy and cooperation because it’s all for the good of the country and I was neither here nor there in support of anyone because I had the mentality of they are all the same after a few years but as they always say, “if you can beat them, either arrange to have them beaten or join them” but have decided to join them in support of him (Peter Obi) but my question is “What makes him perfect or is he really the right choice?”

Those questions were the ones I asked my uncle yesterday and his response was kind of satisfactory. He said “ no one was is perfect as it stands but he’s (Peter Obi) the only one that is fit for the role now and better than the other aspirants there, and he’s the only one that might be able to put a change to what is going on in the country currently. He went further in saying if he enters power, he will stop them (the government) from looting money”.

Then I had to ask again, “what if he wins successfully and then the other aspirants make the seat uncomfortable for him by creating an unstable country/environment for him because we know what they are capable of, like in the case of Goodluck Jonathan?” and then he said that might be a problem but in all, he will know how to handle it and hopefully he has cabinets members he can trust to assist him and he said he has the veto power to put a stop to all those shenanigans. Well, that answer wasn’t clear to me but I didn’t push for more.
And again he said one thing is for sure, the looting and misuse of funds for the development of the country will stop because the present government will demand $1 billion dollars for a project worth $200 – 300 million dollars and eat the rest and still not do the project and that’s the reason they are against him coming into power because he will stop all that just like he did when he was the governor of his state, they had to plot and impeach him twice and he still came back.

So in summary he said the youths know what he’s capable of, and he’s the best candidate for that position that’s why they are rooting and campaigning for him and anyone who’s doing otherwise is just an enemy of the country and doesn’t want the progress of it, though voting for who you want is by choice.

What do y’all think?

No one is certain...the youth have weighed their options and even though he isn't 100% or the best like you asked at least in every ways he better the other candidates.

If he proves us wrong, the same way everyone is coperatively rooting for him, same way they will cooperatively root him out...

To be very honest, I think that Peter Obi would only win based on the helplessness of the youths. PDP and APC have shown their inefficiency in power. I feel that youths would go for LP just because they want change. They want difference. They rather go for the uncertain than eat from the bullet

Yeah exactly, they just want a different person and party, since the ones we've been experiencing isn't bringing a good to the country
