Newbie guide on how to play Axie Infinity game

We all know Axie infinity is a popular play-to-earn blockchain game which has been active since 2018, nonetheless frequent updates are still done to ensure its stable but it’s also believed that it has reached a stable version when it was moved to the Ronin side chain because of the Ethereum gas fee rate.

The game is more or less similar to Pokémon strategy game and in the game itself, there are different types of activities carried out by players or users, they can battle breed pets called Axies.

So which brings us to what Axies are?
Axies are Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and they are collectible virtual creatures which are very cute. They are also defined according to their stats, class, body parts, and special specs.

So I will be talking about the steps on how to play and set up the Axie Infinity game. Along the line, some things might be left out or added but I will try to talk much on major parts.

The first step we will have to take is creating a Ronin Wallet
Like I side earlier on, the Axie Infinity operates or moved to the Ronin side chain, so the only way to play it is to first open or set up a Ronin Wallet, and to do this we will have to visit https://wallet.roninchain.com/ it can be installed on chrome or Firefox and there’s another option of downloading the Android or IOS app

Once the site is opened, scroll down to where you have install for chrome, and once the download is confirmed the Ronin Wallet will appear at the top right corner of the chrome as an icon.

The next step is to click the wallet icon and a pop up will appear, just click on get started and a prompt will ask you to create a password

Once the password is created as usual a secret phrase will be issued for your wallet and as I said secret, so it’s very important you store it properly and of course if you’ve opened a wallet before you should know how important it is. So there’s not much talk about it but keep it safe. Once confirmed, the wallet should be set up.
Then when that is done, just click on the icon again on the chrome browser another pop up should appear like this below

Over to the next step which is creating the Axie Infinity account
First of all, you have to visit https://marketplace.axieinfinity.com/, there’s a login at the top right corner for you to click, then select login with Ronin Wallet and it will prompt you to connect to your Axie account of which you will confirm.

The next process is setting up your email and password, verify the email sent to the mail with a code sent to it, input the code on a pop-up text and confirm and then your account is set up

Onto the next step is depositing some ETH to your Ronin account created.
For you to be able to play the game even though your account is set up, you still need to buy three Axies and for you to buy them you need a digital currency which is a wrapped Ether (WETH) of which have discussed in my post what it is.

All you have to do to deposit is click on my account, you will see it at the top right corner of the screen, click on deposit Ronin and that’s where you will be able to send the Wrapped Ether (WETH) from an Ethereum wallet through the Ronin Bridge.

Just in case you don’t have any crypto wallet you will need one and to set up one you can use MetaMask of which you can find the post here too on how to use it, have made a post on it before too. Else if available already just confirm for it to be connected to your Ronin wallet.

Then next is copy the address to paste in the Ronin address section by clicking the two squares close to your wallet’s name. Select WETH and the amount you wish to deposit. It’s also important to note that transaction fees or gas fee will be charged as you deposit, then click next for process.

Then the step of you acquiring your Axies comes next.
To be able to buy Axies, you still need to visit https://marketplace.axieinfinity.com/ and get the minimum number of three Axies before you can be able to play and that’s if you are already aware of the different creatures and their battle stats.

The next step is downloading the Application
Downloading the app can be found in https://axieinfinity.com/?download=true by selecting the device you are using and once that is done, you will need to enter your details of the account you created then Login.

Before you start you should know that the way to earn on the game is through Battles and breeding. For battles, it can either be adventure mode where you battle against monsters or ruins or Arena mode against other players Axies.

Battles
Both battle modes involves both you and your opponents taking turns to strategize and carry out different attacks with your different Axies and each Axies have four different cards that represents moves or abilities. They can either be offensive or defensive and the end goal is to defeat all your opponents.

Each axis has their own stats body parts and class as stated earlier before which signifies their strength and weakness.

Stats: All Axies have a stat of 165 points and the class and body parts of each Axies determine how the points are divided across health, skill, speed and their morale.

Class: There are nine different types of classes of which Axies belong to, Reptile, Plant, Bird, Dusk, Beast, Aqua, Dawn and Mech.

Skill: This influences the amount of damage when you play multiple cards at the same time.

Health or HP: Represents your health and damage you can take be your Axie can be knocked out.

Speed: faster Axies tend to attack first than the other.

Morale: This influences Axies to land a critical hit and the higher level of morale the higher the chances of Axie to land a strike few more times before getting knocked out.
Body parts: All Axies have body parts that comprises of six which are, Horns, Tail, Mouth, Ears, and Eyes.

Lastly Breeding

This is another way for players to earn and it can be done when Axies are paired together for an offspring to be created. And then they can chose to battle them, sell them or use them again for breeding.
The maximum times an Axie can be bred is seven times because population has to be regulated and also breeding is not free, there’s a fee to be charged and they are AXS tokens each time a breed takes place.
