Why Does Crypto Have the Silliest Names and Does it Make Them Vulnerable?

In the crypto market, there is over 10,000 cryptocurrency in the crypto market and you see some with funny and silly names and you tend to wonder how the developers come up with the names, it's either named after animals, movies or totally weird names that are out of context. I was going through a crypto market and I saw some weird names like Parrot USD, F5 Sleep, SingME, Hippo Inu and so many others.

Personally, I feel having these weird names can make them prone or easy targets for cyber-attacks and when they are attacked no one won’t even notice because of their weird names and probably not popular too. When you hear names like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Tether, Cardano, BNB, Polygon etc. They are popular and the names kind of fit therefore when attacked it will be easier to notice and combat the problem.

Naming coins with weird names is like doing it for fun and not for it to have purpose and pure laziness. For example, there’s a coins called TrumpCoin and PutinCoin they were both developed to support the administration of both parties and presidents. Most coins with weird names are Meme Coins they have names like Banano (BAN), Samoyedcoin, Shiba Predator, Shiba Inu etc.

On the hand, cryptocurrency having weird names does not necessarily mean they are bad and easily prone to attacks and having good names doesn’t also guarantee protection from attacks or other threats take LUNA for example cool and calm name, easy to pronounce but at the end, it went AWOL.

However, crypto is becoming the world leading currency gradually despite the weird names some have and very soon it’s going to be recognized and adopted worldwide.
