Disappointing Petaling Street
Previously: We were on the MRT heading to the Petaling Street as our first destination of our trip in KL, we were looking forward to it as people on the internet said it's the place on the to visit list.
However, we found out the atmosphere was just a bit weird there, and actually they look like the ladies market in Hong Kong which making me less interested on it.
Even worse, my wife saw a scene that one man is trying to steal a watch from one stall inside the market, and there were five six people around him, well, my wife is a type of person who got a good imagination, so there was a terrible scene struck to her mind. And we were rush to leave.
Sounds I had pick a wrong location as our first distention, I scared my wife at the first day of our trip at the first spot. What a shame....
Anyway, we launched our plan B moving to the Central Market where is nearby the Petaling Street, all we wanted to do was find a place for food since it had been three four hours since our last meal in the plane.
My wife told me that the Old Town White Coffee is on the to go list for visitors, so we focus on the GPS on our phone trying to find where is it.
We walked through the mall in the Central Market and still couldn't find it, we were wondering if they removed from the Mall there, and my wife suddenly yell "stupid us, it's behind us !!" and I turn around then go "stupid me, it's behind us" as well 😶
We couldn't wait to order foods as we were bloody hungry at that time, and my wife went "hold on, let me check what's the to eat list on the net first" 😅 She didn't forget to take a picture for me while she was screening on the phone to find what to eat, what a good wife 😁
After she screen on her phone we decided to get one Nasi Lemak and one noodle (pardon me I forgot the name of it), I just realized that the Nasi Lemak is spicy, no wonder why the local Chinese there call it 辣死你媽 (literally: spicy to your mom die) Then I was thinking I am going to have urgent diarrhoea very soon.
I told my wife we need to speed up as I had no idea when will I have urgent diarrhoea, we better get our things done earlier in case I need to rush back to hotel 😲Then we quickly finished our meal at the old town and tried to look around if there's any on the to buy list.
Finally she bought a perfume there, and we had take some pictures nearby the central maker, as expect, here was the urgent diarrhoea after we have done for the pictures for 15 mins. Then we quickly call a grab get back to hotel for toilet first, and it was good for us to keep the things in the hotel before we went out again....
Unfortunately, Petaling Street is a bit overrated when you read in a travel blog 😐😐
There is a lot of less spicy version. But u need a someone familiar with the city to show you the places. 😁😁
I assume this is before pandemic, because I can see the Kasturi Walk is still opened to public.
Sana area sebenarnya Ada claypot ciken rice sungguh sedarp yo. If you don't mind the porkfree status.
yes it was in 2020 Jan
Jeez that Nasi Lemak must have been very very very spicy hahahha. Wonder why other people did not step up when that man was stealing from another stall, maybe he had a weapon or something
not really spicy to the other but me, I can't take any spicy even it's just very very very little
They do. That place is literally a Malaysia version of China town. According to @atyh, there's already 5 or 6 person surrounding the suspect and ready to get into action. However, my experience told me they will not really hurt that person, may be throw a few punches, but will definitely hold him up and ask for the family or friends to pay for
ransomcompensation. May not be something quite significant, probably like couple of hundred bucks. If the suspect is from agangcompany, they will call thegang leadermanager to come over for negotiation for the price of release. It's a modern world, no need to have all the action hero anymore 😂 phone camera is everywhere, nobody wanna beat anyone up by the street market. It's a good move to go back to hotel for shit break. Public toilet is literally none existence anymore nowadays. On the other hand, neat by that town area does have a lot more good food behind the alley. And seriously, you really need a local tour guide for all that.
I think I got the best local tour guide for my next trip in KL 😀

hahaha.. this street is a really bad tourist spot. Even as a Malaysian, I seldom visit this area when I go to KL. Maybe just to find certain food there and just to take a photo. Haha.. I enjoyed reading this post. So funny the way you describe your journey here. I think the Malaysian tourism board should take note on feedbacks like urs. Have a great day.
