It’s Never the Right Time, it’s Just Time
On timeliness and making the right choices.
I’ve come to learn that there is never a right time to do anything. It doesn’t matter how well you prepare, or how much time you take to get ready, you have to seize time and do the thing anyway. As a perfectionist, preparedness is my drug, if I’m not convinced that I’m ready to embark on a project, I most certainly won’t. But, how can you tell when you’re ready?
Waiting until you are completely ready is the perfect recipe to never starting. It is important not to stall our the progress, growth, and the learning we could be acquiring by waiting until we are perfect to begin. We have to learn to appreciate the process and make enough room for imminent growth and success.
Every big deal has a starting point. You cannot grow without the imperfections and mistakes that come with the early stages of your career or business. If you wait until every little detail is in place then you could end up be waiting forever to start.
If you wait until you’re fully ready to have a baby, then you might end up not having it. If you wait until everything is perfect to start that YouTube channel, it may just never happen. Because they’ll will always be something to improve on, so why not get started and figure it out as you go.
This is not to encourage shabby output or poor planning that would lead to a piss-poor execution. Because the truth is, we tend to spend too much criticizing and over thinking our moves and choices when we could be making it and learning the lessons there in.
I guess the point of this is to nudge you in the direction of doing rather than thinking or waiting for the right time.
There is no perfect time, just time.
