STREET PHOTOGRAPHY VOLUME 2 - PANORAMA EDITION. (AN ATTEMPT WAS MADE).

Some time ago, I found myself on a strange balcony on a rainy morning, don't worry about the strange part. I had just fought off an anxiety attack and needed some fresh air. My hands started itching to take some pictures of the rather busy neighborhood but I didn't want to risk testing the water resistant abilities on my phone; obviously I did try but I was careful not to put my ancestors in a difficult position and the smell of raw rice on my phone did not sound appealing at all.
Anyways, this post is what I call a attempt at panorama shots.

LET'S GET TO IT.

This image you see above is the standard portrait view of the background. There appeared to a lot to unpack here due to the many existent contracting colors and textures of the background. But, I like to keep my editing simple as usually as I don't like to take too much away from the original spirit of the image. Editing these wasn't easy and I kept trying different options with each photo thanks to the poor weather. Below is a quick before of the same shot above(or nearly), see how dull it looks?

Anyhoos, moving on. There is a playground, just beneath the balcony where I was stood, don't know if it qualifies as a field but I imagine folks gather there a lot. I wanted to capture the entire view of the field and that was when the panorama spirit possessed me. I had never tried it before so feel free to let your mind run wide with your imagination of how terrible my first few attempts were, yeah just your imagination because I have included none of those.

This one here was the first reasonable attempt, first one that didn’t look like it was taken in the middle of a brain seizure. You can still see where my hand shook a bit and a dark shade was cast just above the right hand corner. There were tons of trials and some of them were reasonable but you can obviously tell that I had zero skills and would require proper focus training and some steady hands exercises.

Apparently, the trick is to move your phone steadily on the straight provided, hmn easy pitsy anyone at all can do that right? Spare me please. It was especially difficult trying to capture the entire mass of the field because I had to tilt my phone downwards and that sort of made moving on a straight line extra tedious.

I proceeded to extend my hands a bit to cover the top view away from the playground and that was how I got the cover image which I increased the saturation and vibration a bit more than the others. It was really cool watching the entire view from one corner of a neighborhood to the other edge fit into one image. It was magical, I may or may not have been stoned so everything was extra amazing. 😆

I did what I could before the rain became intense and I had to take a bow. I got a little wet, and my phone did too but not too much, also snuck in some selfies as I remain my favorite muse.

I stopped taking pictures and instead absorbed some pure and cleansing energy from the rain as I closed my eyes and drew several deep breaths which did a good job in ridding me of the sadness I felt earlier.

It was a great time spent raising and moving my phone in different directions. I have attached a little BTS selfie below, just to give you an idea of what melancholic morning I was having. I feel warm in the inside now that I’m recollecting the details of my emotions that morning.

Blue is such a warm color on a sad girl.

A LITTLE STORY FOR THE ROAD.

Before I go I have to tell you that I spend the next twenty minutes watching a woman struggle to drive her car out her gate, her frustration was hilarious to me because heaven knows I would have just left that car parked right in the middle of the road and gone back into my house, damn the consequence. I have a light threshold for non - resolving situations.

She tried and tried but couldn’t because they were too double parked cars parked in front and opposite her gate making the space was quite minimal for her.

I was about to give up on her to head back in as I was getting cold when a young man showed up. A good Samaritan who had no shirt on. Lol, don’t know why I just said that.

Well, he was her entire salvation that day. Out there in the rain, he helped her maneuver by directing her blind movements. I felt relieved for her as he ran off to wherever he came out of while the woman drove away. It was an interesting end to my adventure.

Thanks for sticking around.
