While I was still a very young girl, The news of the death of a very reputable woman in my country broke out. She was a very beautiful woman. A woman we all look up to as a young girl. We use to say we want to be like her when we grow up.

She was an idol. An epitome of beauty with brains. She was successful in her career and politics. She was a philanthropist. A very reputable hospital was named after her. She was loved by all.

The news of her death was a really sad one because there were a lot of children whose future lies in her hands because she was the person paying their school fees and medical bills. A lot of widows were shattered because their feeding and clothing were her sole responsibility.

People wept bitterly because we all benefited from her either directly or indirectly. Her death was indeed a huge blow to our community and nation at large because she was a person of great importance to the presidency.

After all the crying and wailing, we began to ask the cause of her death because she only travelled abroad for a visit then we were made to understand that she went abroad for a cosmetic surgery to remove her stomach fat. It was a sad news and people felt that the cause of her death was avoidable.

I didn't think much of it until I started feeling insecure about my stomach and my friend told me that I could get a surgery done to make it flat, I thought about the possibilities and I remembered the story of our philanthropist when I was growing up. I immediately got rid of the thought.

That scared me. The thought of thinking about doing what killed a very wealthy and powerful woman. I never considered it again and I don't think I will ever consider it because I have grown past my insecurities and fear. I have overcome the fear of acceptance. I love myself enough now that I don't care what you think about me.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, I am beautifully and wonderfully made. I am smart, intelligent, a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a Queen and more. I believe a lot of people look up to me and I can't afford to let them down

My stand about cosmetic surgery is that it can be done when it is a matter of life and death. If it's not, count me out.

Whatever your opinion is about cosmetic surgery, I respect it. This is just my opinion.

That's so unfortunate for the woman who lost her life due to the reason you mentioned. We do respect everyone's thoughts and choices and hope to learn from each other's experiences.

I am with you on your stance on getting surgery when it's a matter of health.

Hey! A kind-hearted woman died just like that. That was so pathetic, may her soul be reposed.

Yes, you should be proud of your look no matter what anyone feels about that. Self-esteem is necessary to be happy.

However, anyone can do it if that is what will make them happy but should consider the effects and be sure they are ready for whatever the outcome is.
