I or Family, It All Depends// LOH CONTEST 178

This prompt is making me think about a lot of things. Family comes first and I am my top priority all applies to my belief in different situations.

What do you think about the phrase "𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭?" Do you agree with it? Or do you prefer the phrase "𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲." I would like to know what you think.

I would look at this prompt in both ways and give my reasons for my choice.
Everything depends on how much we value relationship and how much family means to us. Everyone, based on their experiences in life will have something to say. The phrase Family comes first is one I so much believe and follow in situations where I have to choose between my immediate family and something inconsequential or an outsider at the detriment of my family. In that situation, family comes first.

In a situation where I have the children's fees to pay and someone is convincing me to use the money for the fees to buy aso ebi (group attire for a party) or to spend it on a fun trip. In this situation, family comes first because I can't risk the future of my kids on the table of enjoyment.

When my child is sick and a lot of money is required for treatment and I have some money kept for my own studies, I will make use of the money to take care of my child because in this situation, family comes first. what is my joy without my children.

There are situations that family must come first no matter how greedy or self centered you are, except you don't love the people you call your family or you just pretend to them.

I must also be my top priority in some situations that involves me. I must be my top priority when my life is in danger in an abusive relationship. It is better to be alive to take care of your children from afar than to be dead leaving your children in the mercy of people you don't even know. I have heard about ladies who stayed back in abusive relationships just because they feel it's better to stay back and fight for the family but unfortunately lost their lives and the children they were trying to protect lived their own lives to the fullest.

I must also choose to be my top priority when my mental health is being affected. In situations where I need to take care of myself, in situations where I know that if I don't take care of myself, I may not be able to take care of others. Then I must be my top priority.
