If only it's possible

While I was a little child, we heard so many stories about reincarnation.
The elders said that not everyone that dies reincarnates, they said that people that reincarnates are those whose life were cut short, that is those who have not lived the complete number of years their creator assigned them. So, when they die accidentally or are killed, they reincarnate in another location that no one knows them, to continue living.

There is this story I heard adults talking about when I was a little girl. They talked about a man who traveled to buy the goods he sells. He had an accident on the highway and died. Everyone mourned him and soon enough, life continued for his family.

Many years later, someone that knows him well in his previous location, traveled to another town to visit his relation, saw the dead man doing the same business he was known for before he died. The person that saw him made enquiry about him from the person he went to visit and was told that the man relocated to their town about the same time he died where he was known.

Presently then, the man was married to another woman and they have kids together.
The person that saw him went back home to tell the family what he discovered and they made plans to visit him.
When they got to his house, his wife went in to call him out for his guests and she discovered he is not in. They searched for him but he was no where to be found.

Stories like that usually get me thinking, about the possibilities of things like that. My friend also told me about his uncle who was living in Lagos but came visiting in Ondo. He got in that evening and they prepared food for him. Both his uncle and dad got talking until the next morning. The uncle told his brother (my friends dad) about his business and other things. When it was dawn, he went in, had his bath, and told them that he wants to visit some of his friends around.

Immediately he left, my friends dad got a call from his wife in Lagos telling them that her husband had died. They were confused at first that he is in the village with them but when he didn't return from where he went to visit his friends they believed he had died and only came to see them one more time.

My belief about this is that they are manipulations

If wishes were horses beggars would ride.
I always wish at times that things should go the way I want it.
While growing up, I had everything mapped out that at so and so age, I want to do this and that but when life happens, you just have to accept it and work towards making things better. There is no one without his own challenges. I repeat, No one

If I were to come back to life and choose where I want to be, I will still choose to be me, I will still love to be the daughter of my parents, the wife of my husband and the mother of my kids. I will always prefer to be a female and I would still want to be a Nigerian, don't be surprised. The only thing I would love to change about myself is that I want to be wealthy, I mean very wealthy and I want power.

The way stories of this kind fear me eeh. I have heard stories like this. Just something similar to what you shared, though I have not witnessed them but they sound like imaginations in my eyes.

They are truly scary 😁
They sound like imaginations but some people can go any length to prove to you that it's real. That my friend that talked about his uncle will always tell you it's real because he saw it himself.

I heard a lot of these reincarnation stories while I was growing up too. Personally, I always believe that even if reincarnation were possible, it wouldn't be fun since one may not have any memories of the previous life.
And if this is true, it means that we all are on auto-repeat and might have lived several lives already. Well, like you said, "If wishes were horses..."

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on reincarnation.
