UNCLE TOBI

I have been blessed with a few good teachers who actually contributed in making me who I am today, When I was in primary school, at Army Command Children School, GRA Beni city, I loved my teacher, Mrs Jeremiah so much that no one is allowed to say anything bad about her. This was so serious then that my brother started using it to taunt me.

He composed a song with her name saying that hot eba burned Jeremiah and I would cry and cry because I was a cry baby then until my dad warned him never to say that again. I loved Mrs Jeremiah then because of the love she showed us. She told interesting stories and hardly flogs us.

Mrs Jeremiah had so much love in her. The first thing we do when we see her was to run up to her and give her a hug, she would smile broadly and ask about Mummy and Daddy. She was efficient, beautiful, loving and caring. I never want to miss school because of her.

I was already considering becoming a teacher because of her.
Still in primary school, when I got to primary 4, Mr Emmanuel was our class teacher. He was the opposite of Mrs Jeremiah. He could flog a dead man back to life. I didn't like him a bit. I felt he was wicked. He never cared, he flogs you before listening to your excuse. He made me hate mathematics. When we left his class to primary 5, he was still our mathematics teacher. This made me hate mathematics even more.

There is this one very special teacher that I still pray for till date. He is Mr Tobi, He taught us chemistry then. He didn't stay more than a term in my school then but he imparted me positively. He was such a great teacher. Always giving us that positive vibes that took away the fear of chemistry. Everything looks easy with him. He has this positive energy and we were always around him. He told us that things will only be difficult if we regard it as difficult
Apart from teaching very well, He was such an inspiration then, he told me that I am a star that I will shine if I keep pushing, that I will outgrow my health challenges.

He told me never to feel bad about people's comments about me that it will make me stronger. He encouraged me on a daily basis as if I was his child. It was as if he was divinely sent to me because that was a trying time in my life.
I'm still trying to find him on social media. The only barrier is that I don't know his last name. I've asked some of my classmates then but they can't remember. We all called him uncle Tobi then. In the scale of one to ten I will give him a 10. He was my best teacher.

you have a very good teacher who always encourages you not to be too open with people's comments towards us, and what hurts is that you lose contact, I hope you will meet him again and be able to thank him for the motivational words he always gives you

I really hope to find him soon. His words are still fresh in my memory like yesterday. It's been about 15 years now.
Thank you
