Dental hygiene for Blacky (EN-ES)

Greetings, my dear pet-loving friends. I hope you are doing very well, in good health and well being.

The dental hygiene of our pets is one of the commitments that we must assume as responsible for them. This cleaning is fundamental for their health and for their general well-being. For this reason, we must take them to do the necessary surgical prophylaxis with a specialist to keep their teeth strong, clean and free of bacteria and do the cleaning daily to maintain this treatment.

Many times we do not pay attention to the dental care of our doggies for different reasons, among them the time available for work reasons and the economic factor, in most cases. However, taking action is the first step to make up for this neglect.

Our pets have always had medical attention and the necessary care to keep them well and feeling well. However, we have never sent them for dental prophylaxis.

Here in Bogota, we have the possibility to have our pets' teeth cleaned by a specialist. So the first one we took to this consultation was Blacky. In this publication that my daughter made in her blog, she told us the details of this treatment.

After this prophylaxis, we have maintained Blacky's oral hygiene to prevent his teeth and gums from getting sick. The procedure is simple, although Blackyto doesn't like it very much.

La higiene dental de nuestras mascotas es uno de los compromisos que debemos asumir como responsables de ellas. Esta limpieza es fundamental para su salud y para su bienestar general. Por esto, debemos llevarlos a hacer la profilaxis quirúrgica necesaria con un especialista para mantener sus dientes fuertes, limpios y libres de bacterias y hacer la limpieza diariamente para mantener este tratamiento.

Muchas veces no prestamos atención al cuidado dental de nuestros perritos por diferentes razones, entre ellas el tiempo del que se dispone por razones de trabajo y el factor económico, en la mayoría de los casos. Sin embargo, tomar acción es el primer paso para resarcir este descuido.

Nuestras mascotas siempre han tenido atención médica y los cuidados necesarios para que estén y se sientan bien. Sin embargo, nunca les habíamos mandado a hacer la profilaxis dental.

Aquí en Bogotá, tenemos la posibilidad de hacerle esta limpieza dental a nuestras mascotas con un especialista. Así que al primero que llevamos a esta consulta fue a Blacky. En esta publicación que hizo mi hija en su blog, nos contó los detalles de este tratamiento.

Después de esta profilaxis, hemos mantenido la higiene bucal de Blacky para evitar que sus dientes y encías se enfermen. El procedimiento es sencillo, aunque a Blackyto no le gusta mucho.

When Blacky realizes we're reaching for the toothpaste and his toothbrush, he knows he's due for a brushing next. He stays alert and puts up a bit of resistance, at first, but, then, he stays calm and lets me carry him to do the cleaning sitting on my lap.

The toothpaste I use to brush Blacky's teeth is special for puppies, a formula that tastes good to them and is safe for them to swallow. I start brushing very carefully: first the back molars because it is the most complicated part, then his fangs and finally his teeth. On some occasions, he has been upset if something has mistreated him, he pretends to bite me, but without hurting me.

Cuando Blacky se da cuenta de que estamos buscando la crema dental y su cepillo de dientes, sabe que lo siguiente es que le toca el cepillado. Se mantiene alerta y pone un poco de resistencia, al principio, pero, luego, se queda tranquilo y deja que lo cargue para hacerle la limpieza sentado en mis piernas.

La pasta dental con la que le cepillo los dientes a Blacky es especial para los perritos, es una fórmula con un sabor agradable para ellos y segura por si la ingieren. Comienzo el cepillado con mucho cuidado: primero las muelas traseras porque es la parte más complicada, luego sus colmillos y para terminar dientes. En algunas ocasiones, se ha molestado si algo le ha maltratado, hace como si me mordiera, pero sin hacerme daño.

Fortunately, Blacky is very well behaved, and lets me brush his teeth without much trouble. I do this brushing routine weekly, after my Saturday walk.

This practice gives us peace of mind knowing that we are taking care of his oral health as well as his overall well-being.

Afortunadamente, Blacky se porta muy bien, y deja que le cepille sus dientes sin mayor problema. Esta rutina de cepillado se la hago semanalmente, después del paseo sabatino.

Esta práctica nos brinda la paz de saber que estamos cuidando tanto de su salud bucal como de su bienestar general.
