(Esp / Eng) World of glass| Three fabulous ideas with glass bottles
¡Hola, mi gente creativa! Por acá estoy de nuevo, feliz de participar en la edición del concurso dedicada al vidrio.
Hello, my creative people! Here I am again, happy to participate in the edition of the contest dedicated to glass.
Desde que comencé a hacer manualidades y dispuse en mi casa un espacio al que llamé Rinconcito de Relax, he trabajado con diferentes materiales: foamy, madera, MDF y vidrio. Con respecto al vidrio, me gustan mucho los frascos y botellas que no sean comunes. Aquellos que tienen diferentes tamaños y formas son los que guardo para conservar mermeladas, para guardar algodones, para adornar y regalar. En una ocasión, adorné varias botellas de vino y las obsequié como detalle para las mamás de la familia y amigas.
Since I started to make crafts and set up a space in my house that I called Rinconcito de Relax, I have worked with different materials: foamy, wood, MDF and glass. Regarding glass, I really like jars and bottles that are not common. Those that have different sizes and shapes are the ones I keep to preserve jams, to keep cotton wool, to decorate and to give as gifts. On one occasion, I decorated several bottles of wine and gave them as gifts for the mothers of my family and friends.
Me enamoré de inmediato del tema de esta semana y busqué algunos frascos para preparar mi participación. En la foto les muestro: dos eran de aceite de oliva y el más pequeño era de una mermelada.
I immediately fell in love with this week's theme and looked for some bottles to prepare my participation. In the photo I show you: two were olive oil jars and the smallest one was a jam jar.
Con los frascos frente a mí, no me decidía por ninguno, así que pensé en trabajar con los tres y luego escogería uno. Pero, ya terminados, no pude decidirme y no me resistí a la tentación de mostrarles los tres resultados. A mí me encantaron y les cuento que trabajé con lo que tenía en casa, algunas de las pinturas al frío están dañadas, pero me sirvieron para este proyecto, tengo que reponer mi stock ahora que estoy disfrutando de nuevo mi rinconcito de relax y las manualidades en esta comunidad.
With the jars in front of me, I couldn't decide on any of them, so I thought I would work with all three and then choose one. But, now finished, I couldn't make up my mind and couldn't resist the temptation to show you the three results. I loved them and I tell you that I worked with what I had at home, some of the cold paints are damaged, but I used them for this project, I have to replenish my stock now that I am enjoying again my little corner of relaxation and crafts in this community.
El material que vamos a usar es:
- Frascos de vidrio
- Alcohol
- Algodón
- Pinturas al frío
- Servilletas decoradas
- Tijeras
- Pita
- Cintas de tela
- Abalorios de bisutería
- Pega blanca
- Silicón frío
- Silicón caliente
The material we are going to use is:
- Glass jars
- Alcohol
- Cotton
- Cold paints
- Decorated napkins
- Scissors
- Pita
- Fabric ribbons
- Jewelry beads
- White glue
- Cold silicone
- Hot silicone
Lo primero que debemos hacer es lavar bien los frascos y dejar secar por 24 horas. Luego, antes de comenzar, los vamos a limpiar con un algodón con alcohol. Después, los vamos a fondear con una mezcla de agua y pegay dejamos secar bien. Este es el primer paso para todos los frascos.
The first thing to do is to wash the jars well and let them dry for 24 hours. Then, before starting, we are going to clean them with a cotton with alcohol. Afterwards, we are going to seal them with a mixture of water and glue and let them dry well. This is the first step for all the jars.
Comencé con la botella de aceite que tiene asa. Con ella apliqué la técnica del decoupage que consiste en decorar cualquier superficie con figuras recortadas de papel, servilletas o tela y pegarlas a una superficie con un barniz. Escogí una servilleta con un bodegón. Apliqué un fondo con pintura al frío color mostaza como base para pegar la servilleta.
I started with the oil bottle that has a handle. With it I applied the decoupage technique that consists of decorating any surface with figures cut out of paper, napkins or fabric and gluing them to a surface with a varnish. I chose a napkin with a still life. I applied a background with cold mustard colored paint as a base to glue the napkin.
El truco para pegar la servilleta es retirarle, cuidadosamente, las dos o tres capas de papel que trae por detrás. Cuando ha quedado la figura casi transparente, la llevamos a la botella y la pegamos con la mezcla de agua y pega con mucho cuidado, también. Existe un pegamento especial, pero se puede sustituir, sin problema, con la mezcla que les digo.
The trick to glue the napkin is to carefully remove the two or three layers of paper on the back. When the figure is almost transparent, we take it to the bottle and glue it with the mixture of water and glue very carefully, too. There is a special glue, but it can be substituted, without problem, with the mixture that I tell you.
Ponemos la mezcla, rapidito para que no se seque y aplicamos la servilleta, poco a poco y pasando el dedo con cuidado para eliminar las líneas,tal cual como cuando forramos un cuaderno.
We put the mixture, quickly so that it does not dry and we apply the napkin, little by little and passing the finger carefully to eliminate the lines, just like when we cover a notebook.
Para terminar, adorné el cuello de la botella con pita y en las puntas unos abalorios de bisutería. Para el acabado final, le di una mano de brillo, también lo hago con la mezcla de pega y agua.
To finish, I decorated the neck of the bottle with pita and at the ends some costume jewelry beads. For the final finish, I gave it a coat of gloss, I also do it with the mixture of glue and water.

La segunda opción es con el frasco pequeño. La usaremos como una lámpara con su velita.
Ya con el frasco preparado, marcamos un corazón y pintamos alrededor de él con el color escogido. Yo usé el amarillo. Esta pintura estaba un poco dañada y el acabado no quedó como me gusta, pero continué.
Once the jar is ready, we mark a heart and paint around it with the chosen color. I used yellow. This paint was a little damaged and the finish was not as I like it, but I continued.
Le pinté hojitas y florecitas para darle un toque primaveral, ya saben lo que me encantan las flores.
I painted leaves and flowers to give it a spring touch, you know how much I love flowers.
Le apliqué el brillo y para terminar, por el borde del frasco le pegué con silicón frío, un pedacito de cinta con un tejido colorido que me encantó.
I applied the glitter and to finish, I glued a little piece of ribbon with a colorful fabric that I loved on the edge of the jar with cold silicone.
¡Lista la lamparita! Se ve preciosa con la velita encendida.
The chandelier is ready! It looks beautiful with the little candle lit.
La última opción es con el otro frasco de aceite.
Igualmente, ya lo teníamos preparado con la base de pega, y con el silicón caliente, lo dejé caer,de lado a lado, en el cuello de la botella y en la parte de abajo, dejando el centro liso para hacer allí un diseño.
We already had it prepared with the glue base, and with the hot silicone, I let it fall, from side to side, on the neck of the bottle and on the bottom, leaving the center smooth to make a design there.
Luego, lo pinté todo con pintura al frío marrón como color de base.
Then, I painted it all with brown cold paint as a base color.
Al principio, no tenía nada prediseñado, pero me dejé llevar y con los pintapuntos, apliqué la técnica del puntillismo para hacer una especie de mandala.
At the beginning, I didn't have anything predesigned, but I let myself get carried away and with the dots, I applied the pointillism technique to make a kind of mandala.
Completé el diseño con puntitos por los otros lados de la botella. Pinté la tapita con el marrón, también. Para el acabado final, se me ocurrió darle un toque dorado, busqué pintura al frío dorada y no tenía. Me quedé pensando y recordé mi pintura de uñas dorada. Esa le puse y el efecto me fascinó. Brillo para terminar y lista.
I completed the design with dots on the other sides of the bottle. I painted the cap with brown, too. For the final finish, I thought of giving it a golden touch, I looked for cold gold paint and I didn't have any. I thought about it and remembered my gold nail polish. I put that one on and the effect fascinated me. Shine to finish and I was done.

No sé por dónde empezar, me gustó todo. La primera botella está genial es mi estilo y la segunda me hizo recordar a las manualidades que hacía con los niños en la escuela. Y la última es una técnica que debo aprender. Necesito poner en práctica todo porque aquí hay muchas botellas de vidrios.
