Ice cream afternoon with my little Nicole (ESP-ENG)

Ser tía es una de las bendiciones más bonitas de la vida, yo amo inmensamente a mis sobrinos, tengo siete y cada uno tiene un pedacito de mi corazón. El mayor de ellos tiene 27 años y me ha dado el regalo de ser tía-abuela de tres pequeños que llegaron a nuestras vidas para renovar la alegría y la esperanza. Y la más pequeña, es mi Nicolita, la consentida de todos. Ella tiene nueve años y es la espontaneidad y la genialidad en persona.

Después que mi hija se fue del país, mi esposo y yo volvimos a quedar solos en casa. Ya viviamos así desde que Sofi se fue a estudiar a la capital del país, y hemos disfrutado esta nueva etapa en nuestra relación, pero ahora, la diferencia es que no hay fecha en el calendario para que ella vuelva, aunque sea de vacaciones. Así que, Nicole y @andrea.carolina, como para atenuar la nostalgia que teníamos, han venido estos últimos fines de semana a acompañarnos. Andrea viene para aprovechar el internet y hacer sus publicaciones en #Hive. Otras veces, las más de las veces, mi pequeña Nicole se viene desde el viernes y quiere pasar más días de la semana, pero el compromiso de sus tareas dirigidas le arruinan sus planes, como ella misma dice (jajaja). Nicole hace una buena dupla con mi esposo y pasan todo el día entre chistes, cuentos y juegos. Verlos así me hace recordar los días de infancia de mi Sofi amada.

Being an aunt is one of the most beautiful blessings in life, I love my nieces and nephews immensely, I have seven and each one has a little piece of my heart. The oldest of them is 27 years old and has given me the gift of being a great-aunt to three little ones who came into our lives to renew joy and hope. And the youngest is my Nicolita, everyone's little darling. She is nine years old and is spontaneous and genius in person.

After my daughter left the country, my husband and I were left alone at home again. We were already living like this since Sofi left to study in the capital of the country, and we have enjoyed this new stage in our relationship, but now, the difference is that there is no date on the calendar for her to come back, even if it's for vacation. So, Nicole and @andrea.carolina, as if to mitigate the nostalgia we had, have come these last weekends to join us. Andrea comes to take advantage of the internet and do her #Hive posts. Other times, more often than not, my little Nicole comes on Friday and wants to spend more days of the week, but the commitment of her directed tasks ruins her plans, as she herself says (hahaha). Nicole makes a good duo with my husband and they spend the whole day between jokes, stories, and games. Seeing them like this reminds me of my beloved Sofi's childhood days.

Este fin de semana, Nicole, se vino el sábado muy temprano, y desde que ella llega, una brisa de alegría y diversión refresca toda la casa. Mi Nicolita es pequeña, pero tiene un corazón enorme y una disposición para servir, increíble para su edad. No hay momento en que mi esposo y yo digamos que necesitamos algo, cuando ya Nicole sale corriendo dispuesta a hacerlo o a traernos lo que necesitemos. Es una gran compañía esta muchachita y sus ocurrencias nos hacen reír mucho. Su tío le enseña tips de matemáticas y chistes que se aprende rápido y es un show contándolos. Yo le muestro el amor por la lectura y por las manualidades, ya le dije que ella va a heredar todo lo que sé y el material que tengo y saltó de felicidad.

Le habíamos prometido a Nicole una tarde de helados, pero por el tema de la falta de gasolina no habíamos podido cumplir la promesa. Así que hoy, nos decidimos a salir al centro comercial caminando, pues no está tan lejos. A pesar de que nos fuimos bajo un cielo nublado y con truenos, logramos nuestro cometido. Íbamos pidiendo que no lloviera hasta que estuviéramos en la heladería, y así fue. Entramos al centro comercial y luego cayó el chaparrón.

This weekend, Nicole, came early Saturday morning, and from the moment she arrives, a breeze of joy and fun refreshes the whole house. My Nicolita is small, but she has a huge heart and a willingness to serve, incredible for her age. There is no time when my husband and I say we need something when Nicole comes running out ready to do it or bring us whatever we need. She is a great company and her witticisms make us laugh a lot. Her uncle teaches her math tips and jokes that she learns quickly and she is a great show and teller. I show her my love for reading and crafts, I told her that she will inherit everything I know and the material I have and she jumped with happiness.

We had promised Nicole an afternoon of ice cream, but due to the lack of gas, we had not been able to keep our promise. So today, we decided to walk to the mall, since it's not that far away. Although we went under a cloudy sky and thunder, we achieved our goal. We kept asking for it not to rain until we were at the ice cream parlor, and it did. We walked into the mall and then the downpour hit.

Ella y yo nos pedimos el helado del mismo sabor, la elección fue Moccachino, y mi esposo lo pidió de mantecado. Pasamos un rato muy ameno y disfrutamos de un delicioso helado, mientras mi esposo nos tomaba estas fotos para enviárselas a Sofi y para comparirlas aquí con todas las mamitas y tías de esta comunidad.

Amo tener cerquita a mi sobrina amada y a ella le encanta venir a casa y compartir con nosotros. Estos momentos son los más felices de mi vida y los que atesoraré en mi corazón por siempre.

She and I ordered the ice cream of the same flavor, the choice was Moccachino, and my husband asked for the mantecado. We had a great time and enjoyed delicious ice cream, while my husband took these pictures to send them to Sofi and to share them here with all the mommies and aunts of this community.

I love having my beloved niece close by and she loves to come home and share with us. These moments are the happiest of my life and ones I will treasure in my heart forever.
