Plot

Miles Morales, the African-American version of Spider-Man, is a boy with a shy character who becomes brave and energetic when he wears the mask. Miles faces an unforeseen situation after the opening of an interdimensional gateway, through which he comes into contact with other Spider-Men from other realities.

Why you should watch it?

With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a new bar for animation quality has been set. This bar is one of exceptionalism, the result of unadulterated artistic inquiry and of a sincere desire to outdo oneself. In order to evoke hand drawing and traditional animation, the team of 142 animators led by Bob Persichetti, therefore inserted many techniques typical of comic book drawing into a CGI skeleton, creating something entirely new, "a living painting," as those directly engaged called it.

In terms of the creative process, this was made feasible by creating and rearranging native CGI frames in 2D through a wholly unique and ground-breaking creation, fusing together many Marvel artists' styles, including Robbi Rodriguez and Sara Pichelli (co-creator of Miles Morales). That's not all either; by using the same animation technique for each Spider-Man, they were able to successfully mimic visual elements like Peni Parker's anime rendering, Spider-Man Noir's black and white aesthetic, or Spider Ham's comic book-like and highly caricatured appearance.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse emerges as a dynamic, high-impact film that is capable of spectacularly displaying a scene or even just an image with high artistic charge, one frame at a time. With every detail finalized and polished to perfection, it is a film that moves and makes an impact. It goes without saying how much such an animation process benefits the action sequences, which are sophisticated and thrilling, in truth also due to a soundtrack and tracklist that are anything but predictable. It also helps that many balloons or vignettes suddenly explode in the middle of a scene or simple inner dialogue.

Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman pay homage to earlier movies right away. They turn them into Sam Raimi's lesson, improving the film's qualities while addressing its problems. The movie is a lengthy citation of the Spider-Man universe, with references to the comics, movies, animated television series, and even the most recent iteration of the computer game released by Insomniac.

There are many easter eggs that nod to die-hard fans without devolving into obnoxious fan service that, in the end, doesn't leave much to contemplate. This movie's production was far more thorough, exquisite, and sophisticated. Those who are familiar with both Peter Parker's Spider-Man and Morales' Spider-Man may also sneer at spotting a few inaccuracies. In reality, the movie isn't supposed to be a simple adaptation or carbon copy; instead, it reimagines, reinvents, and twists some aspects of the comic while, remarkably, managing to keep its spirit.

A really sophisticated and dynamic linguistic-expressive form, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," aids in telling a story about growing up and relationships, regardless of gender, size, or age. It is a story that appeals to all audiences and does it with humor and vigor, beautiful imagery, and frequently very remarkable dialogue, jokes, or insights. A movie that has six winning Spiders, a roaring and intricate style, and the ability to cover a plot that seems straightforward in wonder. Are you assuming less? Sorry to disappoint, but the fantastic movie we were all expecting is now available.

Conclusion

In summary, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is a delight to see. It has aesthetic and directing boldness that has not been seen in recent years in movies, even those that are not animated. One of the best superhero films ever made, and undoubtedly the best Spider-Man movie. However, it is also generally regarded as one of the best-animated movies of the past ten years, maybe even longer, with scenes that may be able to completely consume historical and emblazoned productions. The only way to understand this movie is to see it; but be careful, many lists and explanations are required (be on the lookout for the bombshell scene after the credits!).
The only reason I won't give it a 10/10 it's because, in comparison to other movies to which I have given this rating (all by Miyazaki by the way), it does not have such 'important' themes as the latter. But leaving that aside, it is one of the most beautiful films I have seen in recent years.

Final Remark: It really won't be the same unless it's on a very huge screen.

There is sth about live action movies. They never quite compare to a good animation movie. These last ones are always better o me! By far!

I see very few animated productions and I don't know much about spiderman , I didn't know anything about this version of Spiderman . 😄 I only liked the ones directed by Sam Raimi in live action.

This is a totally different experience from the live action movies, first of all because when you are dealing with fantasy movies with superheroes, it's much easier to make them more "realistic" in an animated movie then in a real one (when you have to use maybe CGI and special effects) and also because here the beauty of the drawings and animation is astonishing. Of course is a matter of taste and to some one animated movies are just not good enough, but I don't agree with this and I will judge a movie only after having seen it... So I suggest you to take a look at this masterpiece and then let me know your opinions 😊

Despite the overflow of spiderman products in the past few years, "into the spiderverse" is definitely a breath of fresh air. Nice review @aurzeq!
