Design and style: symmetry or asymmetry?

On a recent walk in one of the many green spaces in my city, one with a lot of architectural design, I came across these spaces for people to rest, read a book, admire the landscape or sit and chat with a friend.

Their design really caught my attention because of the way these spaces were structured along the route of this park.

In most cases there was a symmetry especially in the seating and in between many bushes. In addition, the design is beautiful.

While retaining that same beauty, there were spaces that were not symmetrical and offered a different view. Each place is specially prepared and programmed. A great work of architecture.

Seeing these places made me think about the designs we make in our lives, how we use architecture in our daily lives, if we are symmetrical to the extreme or if we allow ourselves to be asymmetrical and flow in a different environment.

Many times things happen to us that were not programmed in our lives and are beyond our symmetrical control. In some cases we can act and make resolutions and in others we can just let go, because the decision is not up to us.

Recently I was talking to someone who spoke to me about a period of closing cycles, perhaps letting go of something and taking a different course, not programmed or asymmetrical as some of these spaces to sit.

Life presents us with paths and many of them we did not foresee, but perhaps they are good paths.

Intuition and life's signals can help us make resolutions. That little voice that tells us... it's that way.

In life, we set out plans to follow, and we don't even know if it's the best thing to do. That same life presents us with people or signs that can guide us towards the best path.

And like banks that are neither closed nor symmetrical, we can get other points of view.

To risk taking one of these paths is not such a bad thing, perhaps new horizons will open up.
