Imposing salt carpet for peace.

20240713_173915.jpg

The world is going through many things, many are bad, like wars, hunger, poverty, intolerance, lack of understanding and much more.

When I heard about this event I had to see it for myself, because the news was talking about a lot of salt and peace and I wanted to see what it was all about.

So yesterday afternoon I made my way to the most important street of the city, Calle Larios, crossing several other streets such as Cisneros, which were beautifully decorated for this celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Virgen de la Paz.

The streets were beautiful and tourists and locals alike were taking pictures of the delicately arranged decorations.

I arrived at the Plaza de la Constitución and of course the fountain is always the main attraction, but the whole place was beautiful.

Seeing the carpet was wonderful, so many kilos of salt and so much of it in yellow, blue and red. People crowded around to get a good view of it and to take lots of pictures.

I walked along its entire length, more than 100 metres of salt, to better appreciate its beauty and how it was made.

It took several hours to assemble and elaborate it and in the evening the procession of the Virgen de la Paz would take place. Not only to celebrate the centenary but also to pray for peace in the world.

From an artistic point of view, I thought it was very original, novel and colourful.

They paid a lot of attention to detail and the colourful drawings were beautiful and on one of the ends it names the company that donated the 7,000 kilos of salt: Salinas Santa María.

I really admire the work done and as I said, the artistic and ingenious way of celebrating this event, as well as keeping world peace in mind.

The whole area was fenced off, I suppose until the time of the procession, and at the ends there were columns with beautiful flower arrangements.

Peace is something we all wish for, to live in harmony, but many times humans do not see the damage that is done with wars, there is a lot of direct and collateral damage. I think many forget that we are all humans, that we are one.

They forget that the boundaries of countries are political boundaries set by man, but we are all of this planet. Wars are no good, they only serve the interests of a few and harm the majority in one way or another.

It is important to feel peace so that it can come, to feel it in the hearts of each one of us.

This carpet is only a symbol, a decoration, something that alludes to peace, but we must find that peace in ourselves so that it can be multiplied in everyone.

Respect and understanding for each other is what helps to keep the peace.

I wish you all a very good Sunday, see you next time.
Amonet.

Good morning dear friend @avdesing
I love your city, it's really beautiful. What a beautiful celebration, the decoration they have made with salt is incredible.
What you say is very true, wars serve no one, I believe that all things can be solved by speaking peacefully.
I take this opportunity to wish you a beautiful Sunday

Peace begins with each individual, and then spreads to the world, too bad many don't understand that. Thank you very much @jlufer

I did not know that tradition, the photos are in this sense a gift, thank you. I liked the ideas that you have exposed in the text, although I am sure that difficult times and war are coming.

In this context these photos and the text are a small oasis of hope.

Best regards and thank you @avdesign.

Yes, there are complicated times ahead but it would not be impossible to change them... it depends on the people... although I see it as difficult. Thank you! Have a nice afternoon @enraizar 😃

Apart from the beautiful purpose it has, the salt carpet is amazing, so nice ornaments. I am curious how did they paint the salt in different colours?

It is interesting what salt means in the spiritual and mystical world and also the fact that it was once a trade currency. That is why today we are talking about salary.
What nice pictures! Isn't that big carpet a Guinness record? The other day I read that Malaga has the smallest church in the world.

The world is not doing well right now, but I am participating in this extraordinary event in your city, by holding a salt carpet in the city center certainly has an extraordinary meaning, hopefully in the future we hope that everything will be okay my brothers.

Thank you for sharing these photos, I always feel like I travel with you, your all-seeing eye is everywhere 👁🤣🤣. As for what you say about the wars... I could expand on this topic, but lately I have been triggered by the anxiety of thinking about these things, I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who is aware that these times are difficult and that the world is changing very fast, just not necessarily for the better.... sometimes I start thinking, what will happen next, why was I born in this complicated time? And then I remember the anxiety and I distract myself, otherwise I go crazy... a hug @avdesing 💙.

It's the sad reality.... even if we want peace, it doesn't look good... not to be anxious but to prepare ourselves. The next few years will be difficult.💗

Yo dije... tanta sal tirada, pero bueno tal vez no es sal de mesa... eso no lo se, la intención es hermosa!
