Museum of Arts and Customs of Malaga - Part 3 📷 Spain (EN-ES)

In this third stage of the tour of this marvellous museum that takes us back in time, we will see three rooms, which, although they are totally different, belong to the customs of an emblematic period, not only of this city but of the whole of Spain.

As I have mentioned on other occasions, the museum has been restructured and improved, so the numbering of the rooms does not always follow an order and some have disappeared or have been unified with others.

En esta tercera etapa del recorrido de este maravilloso museo que nos lleva a épocas pasadas veremos tres salas, que, si bien son totalmente distintas, pertenecen a las costumbres de una época emblemática, creo no solamente de esta ciudad sino de toda España.

Como mencioné en otras oportunidades, el museo ha sido reestructurado y mejorado, por lo que la numeración de las salas no siempre sigue un orden y algunas han desaparecido o unificado con otras.

In the case of room 11 of the museum, it is dedicated to popular religiosity.

There are numerous statues and sculptures, as well as impressive miniatures in glass cases.

A large number of religious objects from that period with many details and very well carved.

En el caso de la sala 11 del museo está dedicada a la religiosidad popular.

Encontramos numerosas estatuas y esculturas, como también miniaturas impresionantes de lo bellas que son en cajas de cristal.

Mucha cantidad de objetos religiosos de esa época con muchos detalles y muy bien labrados.

An incredible collection of religious silverware decorates the showcases of the place, in a very long corridor where the exhibition takes place.

Above all, I was struck by the tiny figures in these showcases, which you had to get very close to see very well. They are very well designed and make a beautiful display.

Una colección de orfebrería religiosa increíble decora las vitrinas del lugar, en un pasillo muy largo donde se realiza la muestra.

Sobre todo, me llamó la atención las pequeñísimas figuras en esas vitrinas, que había que acercarse mucho para verlas muy bien. Están muy bien diseñadas y conforman una exhibición preciosa.

The Virgen de los Dolores presides over this exhibition, which is very important for the city, and the sculpture dates from the 18th century.

Preside esta exposición la Virgen de los Dolores, muy importante para la ciudad y la escultura data del siglo XVIII.

In the case of room 12, we find the room dedicated to the "barros malagueños" and the traditional local festivals.

Previously this room was mainly made up of posters and posters referring to the fairs held here in Malaga in different years.

En el caso de la sala 12 encontramos la dedicada a los barros malagueños y las fiestas tradicionales del lugar.

Anteriormente esta sala estaba conformada, sobre todo, por carteles y afiches que hacían referencia a las ferias de distintos años que se hacen aquí en Málaga.

This room has been completely refurbished and now consists of numerous showcases with small sculptures showing Malaga's mud, clothing and customs.

The life of the local people is shown in beautifully crafted statuettes. They also show the verdiales and the traditional festivities, the folklore of the place, but above all dedicated to the festivities during the fair.

Esta sala fue totalmente reformada y ahora consta de numerosas vitrinas con pequeñas esculturas mostrando barros malagueños, vestimentas, costumbres.

La vida de los pobladores demostrada en estatuillas muy artesanales y hermosas. También en ellas se ven los verdiales y las fiestas tradicionales, el folklore del lugar, pero sobre todo dedicado a as fiestas durante la feria.

Some of the posters from the previous exhibition are still preserved.
What I liked most were the statuettes of the horses, their positions and gestures.

Aún se conservan alguno de los carteles que había en la exposición anterior.
Lo que más me gustó fueron las estatuillas de los caballos, sus posiciones y gestos.

Arriving at room 13, we see the room dedicated to the printing press. A marvellous exhibition of the different tools used to make the printing presses of the time, the books, the drawings caught my attention.

The books are very large with very illustrative and colourful decorations.

Llegando a la sala 13, vemos la sala dedicada a la imprenta. Una exposición maravillosa de las distintas herramientas con que se elaboraba la imprenta de la época, los libros, los dibujos llamaron mi atención.

Los libros son muy grandes con unas decoraciones muy ilustrativas y de mucho color.

On the other hand, it was impressive to see the tools used to carry out this work, which is developing rapidly nowadays. It was used, for example, to make the posters that brought the fairs to life.

It was a time-consuming and precise process. The smell of old books is wonderful. What I liked most in this room were the drawings and illustrations in full colour.

Por otra parte, ver los utensilios con que se llevaba a cabo ese trabajo que hoy en día se desarrolla rápidamente, fue impresionante. Con ella se realizaban los carteles por ejemplo que daban vida a las ferias.

Era un proceso que llevaba mucho tiempo y precisión. El olor a libros antiguos es maravilloso. Lo que más me gustó de esta sala fueron los dibujos y las ilustraciones a todo color.

There are a few more rooms and a walk through the corridors on the first floor where interesting photographs are on display. But so much for today's tour.

I hope you enjoyed this part of the museum. Of these three rooms my favourite was the printing press, a lot of history with a lot of detail.
