Views from the City of London

avatar

During these C-19 days it is difficult to travel and I have been wanting to post something to this community for a while. So instead, here goes, my first post from a little closer to home.

The City of London

Well, not really the biggest tourist attraction as most tourists would congregate around the West End. There is The Museum of London near the Barbican which is well worth a visit. It shows you London through the ages which is a great tour in history.

Of course, there is also St. Paul's, which you can see in some of my photos, which was once the tallest building in London. Dwwarfed now by some of the big towers in the city.

In terms of places to eat or drink, it can be a little empty in the evenings but there are still some great places. If you want steak, then I recommend Gaucho's on Broadgate. However, the City is famous for its views and the best place is Sushi Samba.

If you are just in for a drink, then try Vertigo on the 42nd floor of Tower 42.

To give you a taster of some of the views available in the City from some of the tower blocks, here are some shots I have taken from Tower 42 on Old Broad Street. Tower 42, the old Natwest building, was also once the tallest building in London. Its now down the number 15 in the list with the tallest building being The Shard - which you can see from some of my photos.

The best thing about the photos from the City is the view. You can get some great different colours in the sky at different times of the day. Have a look below and let me know what you think of these views.

Wow, wasn't expecting that as a newcomer to a community trying to work out what's going on. Hmm, might try again one day.

That's got nothing to do with being a newcomer to a community. Recycling content is not acceptable on Hive otherwise one can just keep on reposting in different communities. You are more than welcome to share your travels in the community as long as it is original new content as that is the only way we can maintain the quality of the travel community. Thanks for your understanding
