"Apeironas" (Apeiron) Theatrical Performance "Nekrozė" (Necrosis) V2 Part 3 - A Visual Story (15 Photos)

That was already second time I have visited this particular performance of "Apeiron". And I guess I can visit it few more times even. And not only from the point of searching for another photographic angles or another lighting setup (exactly what I got this second time and everything looked a lot different from 1st attendance), but due to performance itself. Its kind of too much deep and you may need to watch it few times to catch all nuances and thoughts behind the dialogues.

"Necrosis" is a kind of psychological thriller, in which the main elements of this genre (anxiety, waiting, tension, confusing situations, annoyance, etc.) are installed, and the "real" world of the performance is constantly transformed by confusing rituals, meanings, signs, masks and images, metaphor. What lies behind those images? What makes up the core of the image? Hasn't the notion of "humanity" become an empty shell?

The three main characters of the performance - Viktorija (Greta Kazlauskaitė), Lukas (Ričardas Bartašius) and Monosofija (Kristina Švenčionytė) - are people stuck in a continuous cycle of false self-proof, desire for happiness, critical attitude towards another person, their participation in an unusual game at some points in the prize is reminiscent of Jerry Zucker’s Rat Race). The competition of these characters gives birth to the reality of jealous "gods", which the directors of the play call "ego paranoia". The efforts of each actor to protect their leadership, success, to elevate themselves by denying the other - is a continuous process of ego (rather, an illusion of continuity), stimulated by misunderstandings and perceptions, covered by spiritual materialism. Unfortunately, the characters of the performance cannot create a firmly existing reality from the images of "I" or "my", therefore the efforts to live in the illusion of continuity and eternity cause great tension.

Is it possible to escape from a prison where a person imprisons himself? What is Ariadne’s thread that will take the characters out of the confusing maze? The creators of the play "Necrosis" do not shy away, but do not provide a single answer. Perhaps the only way to break free from the torturous ego dictatorship is to realize one’s own temporality? Maybe you can get out of the maze only by answering thousands of annoying, delaying, painful questions? Or is it necessary to engage in alchemy, to seek the hallucinative eternity of the "world of gods", in which the uncontrolled ego as necrosis will spread in the physical and spiritual body?
