I was looking to see if I could find out if anything like this was happening. Sorry I missed it. It's been something that has crossed my mind off and on for a while now. Every time I end up using a stock photo, in fact.
So are the photos on Flickr the ones you have up for free use on Hive? They're all stunning, by the way, but then you're a pretty well known photographer here. 😉
I'm working on a kind of archive/index to put the post links into different genres in order to make searching a little more easy. It's not a perfect solution, but something that can be worked with. May I link this post and your other updates in that?
Since that was a kind of private project, you know how things moves here ;) Flickr was used as quite a perfect location for such a bank due free up to 1k image store with possibility to tag, search and generally make certain albums.
The point is and what could make more sence, it is some kind of centralized bank where just any hivean can upload images with tags, etc. But thats kind of global project which needs much more support...
Your absolutely right, of course. It's interesting, as I'm coming from the perspective of seeing how much can be done purely through Hive front-ends and it's limiting (hopefully not forever). I guess the free Flickr storage would be a great idea for each individual artist to store their useable stock, just not as a main database.
