Unli Samgyupsal With My Buddies

It was a plan that just popped out of the blue last week when we were going home from school. Just looking for a place that we could satisfy our tummies for lunch, and we thought about eating in a Korean shop where they offer an unlimited Korean Barbeque (Samgyupsal) for only Php199 or $3.63. It's not one of those fancy places to have samgyup like on social media, and the place is located beside the 888 Chinatown Mall. It was budget-friendly for us students, that's why we went for it.

We accompanied @blip-blop on buying a new phone for himself first at SM City Mall. He also have talked about it on his blog, "Market Friday: Buying Something That I Want!". This simple lunch with that had turned out to be a little celebration for him on finally buying things he wanted.

After that, upon exiting the mall, Mang Inasal came into mind and we even argue a little if we would choose to eat there over Samgyupsal. Yet, I insisted on Samgyup since we already had eaten at Mang Inasal back then. I just wanted something new aside from those common fast food chains around the place. It was my first time there actually, since I wasn't into these foods back then. Honestly, not really a foodie type at all.

There weren't much people in the area when we got there, and we have seated ourselves near the stall. Much easier to go when we want a refill on our table. Honestly, I really don't have any idea how to do this since I don't even cook at home. According to one of our companion, just place the meat on the grill and its oil will just help cook itself.

While waiting for it to be cooked, we were just digging in on some side dishes they served with the meat. We also had kimchi and radish. I didn't like the taste of Kimchi, though. I know it's fermented, but just didn't expect it to taste like something a little sour, a little bitter, and a little bit spicy. Maybe, it depends on how to make it but I like the sweet and sour radish.

We were chatting while the meat still wasn't cooked. They served us two plates of meat, (1) spicy and (2) regular. There's not much difference between them when it's cooked. It wasn't that spicy, and I actually couldn't savor its spiciness, or maybe I'm just used to spicy foods that much. We were watching the meat closely as it easily got burn in the grill, then we have to flip them faster. At first, I was the one doing it since I was the one nearest to the grill but I was too slow for the job, so the other friend took over.


There were cooked meat that was ready to be eaten but the drinks were missing. We asked them what are their available drinks, and they only have Pepsi, and the ones were liquor. Since they wouldn't drink liquor, we went for the soft drink.

We lost count of how much plates we have cooked and eaten before we got full, but I think it's worth the money. The other friend experienced dizziness and felt unwell, which ends our Unli-Samgyup. Maybe, it was because of the more pork fats that he had eaten. We're not really sure, but he felt okay afterward and we parted ways to go home.

That's enjoyable since it was with our dear friends. It's rare to have moments like this and the last time we had was during the midterm of the first semester. I wish to have a fun and memorable bonding moments like this again, hoping to have it soon.

I never experience ang mag samgyup paaaa. Me also want. Kaso baka mamangyan ako kapag nag try kami hahahaha. Pero sene ell.
