Kabupaten Aceh Utara, Indonesia, has a long history of struggle, including in the struggle to expel Japanese occupation. One of the symbols of this struggle is found in Bunot Village, Syamtalira Bayu District, about 12 kilometers east of Kota Lhokseumawe.

There is a simple monument, but behind it is a spirit of struggle that never died out against the Japanese occupation. There was Teungku Abdul Djalil alias Tgk Di Cot Plieng who launched the struggle against Japan. The monument is so simple that it often escapes the attention of Jalan Medan - Banda Aceh users.

Tgk Abdul Djalil has been working together from the village to northern Aceh. At the end of 1942 this secret message turned open. The tyranny of the Japanese army made Tgk Abdul Djalil openly invite the Acehnese to fight the Japanese. This attitude certainly made Japan uncomfortable so that it invited other young ulama (theologian in Islam) to make counter-speeches, but the young ulama refused.

The failure of Hulublang's efforts to persuade Tgk Abdul Djalil, finally Japan got the chance to earn Tgk Abdul Djalil and his followers, by receiving the support of the Japanese military with a large of people to Bayu, November 6, 1942, while on the defensive side, were behind Cоt Plieng. The most demise occurred when it was still today Tgk Abdul Djalil along with his followers ended up pulling into the interior.

In the process of retreating while regaining strength, this great ulma is still at Meunasah Baro, stopping in Desa Aluе Bada. In Friday, November 9, 1942 (3 days later), Tgk Abdul Djalil descended to desa Meunasah Blang Bulоh, 10 km from Bayu to carry out Friday prayers.

Once there is a pretty burning battle (when the Friday prayers), don't be one fight at a time with a sword and a sword. So too often, defeating Teungku with a live weapon, because so many of the masters are pretty good and keep fighting with guns, never, never, never leave.
