For the people of Aceh, Kanji Rumbi is a very popular culinary dish before breaking the fast so that hundreds of residents are willing to queue to get free kanji which is distributed in the courtyard of the Lhokseumawe Islamic Center mosque, Aceh Province.

I saw hundreds of women queuing, some of them carrying bowls, plates and even plastic packages to get Kanji Rumbi Porridge which was distributed free of charge.

The tradition of distributing free Kanji Rumbi has become an annual agenda every month of Ramadan, especially for people in Aceh.
