Monomad Challenge-The craftsman Rapa'ie Now Extinct
Hello hiver
Hello everyone, how are you
I'm back with a black and white photo of me that you might like and this is my entry #monomad
This time I met an Acehnese traditional music artist named Junaidi Hanafiah who is an expert in making rapa'ie as a traditional percussion instrument until now.
Junaidi is now establishing a craft business for making traditional rapa'ie musical instruments called Jambo Tuha which is located in Blang Weu Village, Blang Mangat District, Lhokseumawe City, Aceh Province.
When I came to his place of business, Junaidi, used his yard as a place to work.
at that time he looked very busy working on the rapai maker.
His eyes continued to pay attention to the round piece of wood on the machine, he noticed the various angles and smoothness of the wood.
for the perfection of his percussion instruments. This activity has been carried out since 2012.
Now rapa'ie craftsmen are rarely found.
However, Junaidi still maintains the existence of the rapa'ie musical instrument because it is still very important in the arts. Until Junaidi decided to become a rapa'ie craftsman until now, it is still well maintained.
