Dangerously in Love by Beyonce

After the highly successful album of Destiny's Child "Survivor". There has been a clamor that the members of the girls are releasing their respective solo albums. However, Michelle Williams was the first to release her solo album with "Heart to Yours", a gospel record, and followed by Kelly Rowland's "Simply Deep".

Beyonce's first solo album was released in 2003, but before her actual solo career, she released the song "Work It Out" as the theme for the movie "Austin Powers in Goldmember", which she was also starred as the love interest of Austin Powers. The song didn't fare well in United States charting at number 4 on Bubbling Under R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, while it became a top 10 hit in UK Singles Chart at number 7. It was followed by her collaboration with Jay Z for the song "03 Bonnie & Clyde", which was a bigger hit at number 4 in Billboard Hot 100, and number 2 in UK. It was certified platinum and Gold Record in US and UK respectively. Both songs though, was added on other editions of "Dangerously in Love".

"Crazy in Love" (ft. Jay Z) became the actual lead single of "Dangerously in Love", which has elements of R&B, hip-hop, soul, funk, dance, and pop. It became a globally successful single, and one of the biggest hits of 2003. It went to number 1 in Billboard Hot 100 for 8 weeks, as well as in US Mainstream chart, being a 6x platinum single. It also became a number 1 in UK (as well as in Europe), and certified 3x platinum.

The second single was "Baby Boy", a dancehall R&B track, which featured Sean Paul. The song had Beyonce stay at number 1 of Billboard Hot 100 after "Crazy in Love", staying in the position for 9 weeks, as well as being a chart-topper in US Mainstream chart, and an equivalent 2 million sales in the country. In UK, it became a number 2 hit, and certified platinum, while it peaked at number 3 in European Hot 100 Singles.

The R&B ballad "Me, Myself and I" was released as the third single, which had moderate charting in other countries though a hit in Billboard Hot 100 reaching number 4, and certified platinum. It peaked at number 11 in UK Singles Chart, while it had gone Silver Record.

"Naughty Girl" was released as the fourth single, which gave Beyonce another top 10 hit from the album. The R&B track became a number 3 hit on Billboard Hot 100, and number 2 in US Mainstream chart, while it had peaked at number 10 in UK. Beyonce has also collaborated with Luther Vandross for their own version of "The Closer I Get to You", which became a Grammy winning duet, and charted at number 62 of Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks.

"Dangerously in Love" was actually named after the song in the same name, which was actually co-written by Beyonce, and first recorded by Destiny's Child for their "Survivor" album. Beyonce's solo version was named "Dangerously in Love 2", and even wasn't released as an official single, it charted at number 57 of Billboard Hot 100, and had equivalent sales of over a million in the US. With regards to the album, it became a number 1 album worldwide, including US and UK. It was certified 6x platinum and 4x platinum respectively.
