Handwritten: Shawn Mendes' Shot to Stardom

Shawn Mendes became known through the now-defunct social media app Vine. He released "The Shawn Mendes EP" which went to the top 5 of Billboard 200 albums. However, his debut album "Handwritten" brought him to stardom. It was due to the hit single "Stictches".

The single has been doing well in the music charts as it became his first number 1 hit in UK Singles Chart, and top 10 in most countries. It also reached number 4 in Billboard Hot 100. Its music video has gone huge im YouTube when it has already exceeded 1.5 billion views.

His single "Life of the Party" from his debut EP was also included in the album, as well as "Something Big".

Shawn Mendes has collaborated with Camila Cabello (who's still with Fifth Harmony at that time) through the song "I Know What You Did Last Summer". The single reached number 20 in Billboard Hot 100, and it had gone 3x platinum.

No other singles was released from the album but "Handwritten" could've sold better with extended promotion despite its reissue. It has gone 2x platinum in United States.
