It is really unexpected that the Spice Girls will rise to fame back in 1996. Even Simon Cowell turned them down, which gave him regrets. The album that made the Spice Girls superstars is "Spice".

The first single off of "Spice" was "Wannabe", which became a global hit. The pop tune went to number in more than 30 countries worldwide, with sales of around 7 million or even more, becoming the biggest selling girl band single.

Their second single "Say You'll Be There" broke the one-hit wonder status of the girls as it became their second number 1 single in UK, and even in continental Europe. Eventually, it became a top 3 hit Billboard Hot 100. The third single, which was a ballad, "2 Become 1" became the group's second biggest selling single from the album in the UK, and the third consecutive chart-topper from them. It also became a number 4 hit in America.

The final single released was double-sided with the tracks "Mama" and "Who Do You Think You Are". The former was a song which pays homage to their mothers. The single became their fourth consecutive number 1 hit in UK, while in Asia, the two tracks are well-received individuallly.
