I think I am niche-less

I joined hive December 2020, but there's a major reason I didn't create my first post until April 2021. The reason was I didn't think I had anything worth writing about. After joining I read some great posts and watched some videos and I wasn't sure I had what it takes. I eventually made my intro post after so much hesitation. From there I didn't know what to write about. "What next?" I thought to myself. I managed to string together one or two half hearted posts before deciding I'd give up.

Then all of a sudden I was opportuned to go and learn shoe-making. I felt like writing about my journey, so I felt hive would be the perfect place. This was my first niche. I began sharing my shoe-making processes. Of course it wasn't everyday something worth sharing would pop up, so I realized I had to shake things up a little. I came across the Inkwell prompt and it reminded me of my secondary school days when I used to write fiction. I made use of that little experience and joined in. I received a lot of support and interaction so I continued.

It was all great, I could do my shoe-making posts and write fiction to fill in the gaps.

I continued like this for a short while before stumbling upon a hive naija prompt. The topic was "What do you bring to the hive blockchain." if I can remember correctly. I felt this was something I could write about and I conveyed my feelings well. It was a decent post, so I decided I'd continue sharing my thoughts and doing prompts as long as I had knowledge about them. I also joined the newbies initiative that period so their topics helped me with posts ideas most of the time.

Fast forward to the present day, I haven't made any footwear in so long, and I no longer write stories every week. So how am I still creating posts?

Nowadays I do a lot of contests and prompts, then I write about things that come to my head from time to time While trying out other niches. At the moment I don't have a particular niche. I write whatever I feel like writing at that particular period of time, it could be fiction, it could be finance, it could be inspiration, it could be a movie review, It could be anything. I just find it difficult picking one particular type of content so I diversify. And whenever it gets hard to come up with something, I go around looking for contests and prompts.

When I look back, I realize how much hive has challenged me and improved my creativity. If you'd told me I'd be able to remain active on hive without shoe-making a year ago I wouldn't have believed you.But here we are today. Hopefully I'm able to keep the momentum, let's see what the future holds.

You've come a long way amd i believe there's still more things to explore on hive as time goes on...
I also had the same experience when i started newly on hive, even though i do write on other blogs before, but i was invaded with the thought of where to start from, it stated with challenge on hive and i also participated contest , so i write about anything i can think of, does that mean i'm niche-less too? Not at all, cuz i find more interest in story writing then... But now, ughhhhhh.... I'm skeptical about it...lol

It was nice reading your journey on hive, came across your post via dreemport.

Me too I've been finding it hard drafting stories as much as I used to do. That's why I'm no longer very frequent.

I don't know if you're niche-less or not, but you make great content keep it up. Thanks for stopping by.

I think I am niche-less too. I can write about anything, provided I know something about it. In fact, I don´t need to worry about what to write each day because contests and prompt words got me covered every day. The only thing that would disturb me is when I am weak or tired but I still try my best to diversify each topic. I came via @dreemport and I can see you are doing great today.

For me competitions and prompts are ways to break out of my niche(s) as I enjoy writing, A lot. But I get your point, I used to write about everything and anything when I was still blogging in my native language. Found your post on Listnerds btw ;)

I don't think you are nicheless b0s, I think your niche is community engagements and general lifestyle blog, your ability to interact and engage with various communities while offering contents is also valuable. Nice read.

Hmm that's a different perspective. Maybe my niche is being niche-less, 😂 😂 😂. Just kidding, I get what you mean. !LOL !PIZZA

I am sure you will be able to keep the momentum going. I set a path for myself to post every single day since day one of Hive. Today I have posted for 1007 strait days. And let me tell you that many many days I had nothing to write about. But I still put out something. I does get easier the more you do.

You even got a new follower in me today.

You will continuee to keep the momentum, after all there's always something here to inspire ideas.
Don't feel bad about not having a niche, I have been in affiliate marketing for over 20 years and still don't have a niche. I do a lot of what you do as far as writing on a diverse amount of subjects. I have many interest and are passionate about too many that it's hard to narrow it down to one. I also go after different contests & other prompts I see that catch my interest.

Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll survive here. There's always someone interested in what you have to say.

You'd be suprised how many people there are here on hive that's just like us. Have no niche but love being here on hive! the point is, as long as you show up on a regular basis ( 3-4 times a week or more) there is much luv to out there, even from those who you might think would never see you.
