Probably the best Friday night ever, or not

I sat down on my office chair casually biting my nails. Time had refused to go any faster. I'd been biting my nails for what felt like eternity and only 4 minutes had passed. To make matters worse the internet was having issues. I swiveled in the chair, trying to bring a little excitement to the moment, but that wasn't happening. I fiddled lazily with my name tag on the table.

"Just one hour. One hour and I'll be back in the warm embrace of my bed." I muttered under my breath.

After an hour which felt like twenty years, It was finally time to go home. I packed up all the things I'd be taking home and waited ten extra minutes before leaving, so as not to look lazy.

As soon as I got home I got undressed. Without even paying attention to where I put my clothes. It was the weekend after all.

"No work tomorrow. I can sleep in." I thought.

I had a long cool bath, after which I took a nap.

"The rest of the day is going to be all about me."

I was awakened by the loud ringing sound of my alarm clock. I rubbed my eyes lazily and picked up the TV remote from my bedside table. I switched on the TV as the football match I'd been anticipating was about to start.

I stood up and dragged my lazy self to the kitchen to get some snacks to eat while I watched the match. I looked through the fridge like I was expecting to find more than I'd left there. To my disappointment everything was the same and all that was there was the leftover pizza from the night before and some soda.

"That'll have to do" I said

I brought the pizza out and put it in the microwave. After it was warm, I took out the soda from the fridge as well and headed towards the room once more. As I approached the door, I slipped and fell,sending the soda and pizza in the air. The can landed on the floor with a big thud and broke,emptying all its content almost immediately. Luckily I'd managed to hold on to the glass plate the pizza was on.

I didn't say a word as I cleaned up the mess in silent anger. I was missing crucial parts of the match, and I wouldn't be taking any snacks this evening.

I took a deep breath

"I'll cook something instead. Maybe some fried eggs and bread will cheer me up." I thought.

I put some oil onto the frying pan, determined to enjoy my Friday night. I cut some onions into It, and added my already blended pepper and tomatoes into it while humming my favorite song. All of a sudden an extremely bright light pierced my eyes through my kitchen window. I looked to see what it was and at that moment my heart stopped at the sight of it.
