Hello everyone from a warmer Izmir while waiting for it to cool down! I don't know exactly, but these may be the days called "Bacon Heat". Or the seasons have shifted and we may be experiencing the 1st of August of last year. The only thing I know and can vouch for is that the weather is hot and sweltering. Today I will tell you about a hot day again. I will tell you about Kozbeyli Village, where we went for breakfast on the 2nd day of my Foça holiday.

Serinlemesini beklerken daha da ısınan bir İzmir’den Herkese merhaba! Tam bilmiyorum ama bunlar “Pastırma Sıcakları” denilen günler olabilir. Veya mevsimler kaydı ve şu an geçen senenin 1 Ağustos’unu yaşıyor da olabiliriz. Bildiğim ve kefil olduğum tek şey ise havanın sıcak ve bunaltıcı olduğu. Ben bugün size gene sıcak bir günden bahsedeceğim. Foça tatilimin 2. Günü kahvaltı için gittiğimiz, Kozbeyli Köyü’nü anlatacağım.

Kozbeyli is a small village in Foça. It is about 15 kilometres away from Yeni Foça. We went here with our own car. Before having breakfast, we had a little tour around the village. Since it was already a small place, our hunger did not stop us from travelling. After walking the narrow roads between the houses in the village, we went to the green area reached by footpaths. It has a really magnificent nature. Everywhere is lush green. There are many fountains among this greenery. You can drink water from all of these fountains. Because these waters are clean and clear waters coming from the mountains.

Kozbeyli, Foça’ya bağlı küçük bir köy. Burası Yeni Foça’ya 15 km kadar bir mesafede. Biz kendi aracımızla, buraya gittik. Kahvaltı yapmadan önce, köyü biraz gezdik. Zaten küçük bir yer olduğu için açlığımız bizi gezmekten alıkoymadı. Köyün içerisindeki, evlerin arasında bulunan, dar yolları yürüdükten sonra, patikalarla ulaşılan, yeşillik bölgeye gittik. Gerçekten muhteşem bir doğası var. Her taraf yemyeşil. Bu yeşilliklerin arasında bir sürü Çeşme var. Bu çeşmelerin tamamından su içilebiliyor. Çünkü bu sular, dağlardan gelen, temiz ve berrak sular.

After the green area, we went to the mosque of the village. Kozbeyli Mosque is at the highest point of the village. According to my friend who is a teacher here, there is a place like a watchtower here. It's called Kuzubeyi Tower. This watchtower was built in the past to see the pirates coming by sea. Thus, when the pirates came, they had the opportunity to escape with their valuables. The Mosque here is a very old and historical building. According to a signboard hanging on the wall of the mosque, the date of its construction is 1027. And it is still standing on the slope at the top of the village.

Yeşillik alandan sonra Köy’ün Camii’ne gittik. Kozbeyli Camii, Köy’ün en yüksek yerinde. Burada öğretmenlik yapan arkadaşımın anlattığına göre, burada bir de gözetleme kulesi gibi bir yer var. Buraya Kuzubeyi Kulesi deniyor. Bu gözetleme kulesi, eskiden, Deniz yoluyla gelen Korsanları görebilmek için yapılmış. Böylece korsanlar geldiğinde, değerli eşyalarını da alıp kaçma fırsatı buluyorlarmış. Burada bulunan Camii çok eski ve tarihi bir yapı. Camii’n duvarında asılı olan bir tabelada yazdığına göre, inşa edildiği tarih, 1027 yılı. Ve hala, köyün en tepesindeki yamaçta, dimdik ayakta.

After the mosque we came to the village square. There are many historical buildings and businesses here. The businesses are about breakfast and food. There are also places where natural products produced here are sold. Also, although there are no animals around, there is a slight smell of dung. 😂Moreover, my nose doesn't smell much. Maybe if someone with a sensitive nose goes, they will smell more and more bitter. This smell was not intense enough to bother me.

Cami’den sonra köy meydanına geldik. Burada bir sürü tarihi bina ve işletmeler var. İşletmeler, kahvaltı ve yemek üzerine. Burada üretilen doğal ürünlerin satıldığı yerler de var. Ayrıca, etrafta hiç hayvan olmamasına rağmen, az da olsa, tezek kokusu geliyor. 😂Üstelik benim burnum pek koku almaz. Belki burnu hassas olan birisi gitse, daha fazla ve acı bir koku alır. Bu koku beni rahatsız edecek kadar yoğun değildi.

Finally it was time for breakfast. We went to a hotel called Kozbeyli Konagi, which serves breakfast as well as accommodation. The location is very nice. The high seating overlooks a beautiful view and it is very airy. But this place no longer serves breakfast. It started to serve as a bar. So we couldn't sit here and went to a breakfast place called Kozbeyli Sofrası, which is a bit higher. This place is also in the garden, airy and has a nice view. We ordered a mixed breakfast even though I didn't really like it. We had a delicious breakfast consisting of plants grown in Kozbeyli and completely natural products obtained from the milk of the animals here. Among these products, there were two products that I had never eaten before and caught my attention. The first was "Walnut Jam" and the second was "Tarti". Tarti is a milky and sweet product. It is a spreadable food that turns brown in colour at the table. I love the taste of it, I'm already addicted to dairy and natural foods 😂

Sonunda sıra kahvaltıya geldi. Kozbeyli Konağı isimli bir Otel’e gittik. Burası konaklama dışında kahvaltı sunumu da yapıyormuş. Konumu çok güzel. Yüksekte olan oturma yerleri, hem güzel bir manzaraya bakıyor hem de çok havadar. Fakat burası artık kahvaltı sunumu yapmıyormuş. Bar olarak hizmet etmeye başlamış. Onun için burada oturamadık ve onun biraz daha yukarısındaki Kozbeyli Sofrası isimli kahvaltıcıya gittik. Burası da bahçenin içerisinde, havadar ve güzel bir manzarası var. Ben pek hazmetmesem de serpme kahvaltı söyledik. Kozbeylide yetişen bitkiler ve buradaki hayvanların sütünden elde edilen tamamen doğal ürünlerden müteşekkil leziz bir kahvaltı yaptık. Bu ürünlerden benim daha önce yemediğim ve dikkatimi çeken iki ürün vardı. Birincisi “Ceviz Reçeli”, ikincisi de “Tartı”. Tartı, sütlü ve tatlı bir ürün. Sofrada rengi kahverengiye çalan, sürülebilir yiyecek. Ben tadını çok sevdim. Zaten sütlü ve doğal yiyeceklerin müptelasıyım. 😂
