This morning, around 9:40 am, my husband and I drove to Phuket Airport to pick up my husband's sister and the grandchildren. They were visiting my husband, who had recently undergone surgery and was also taking a vacation. After collecting my older sister and my husband's grandchildren, we headed to our house in Rawai. This residence belongs to my husband's brother-in-law. The surroundings of the house are adorned with large and stunning bouquets of orchids. I couldn't resist capturing the beauty by taking pictures.

I have a strong aversion to driving through heavy traffic, and currently, Phuket Island seems to be engulfed in a sea of cars no matter which direction you choose. It's quite unusual – this is the first time Phuket has experienced such intense congestion.

Amidst the chaotic traffic, a small yet significant moment brought me some solace. I stumbled upon a beautiful orchid, one that my husband's brother-in-law had planted along the fence. Its vibrant colors and delicate petals provided a refreshing sight and unexpectedly relieved me from the fatigue of navigating the crowded roads. In that brief encounter with nature's beauty, the stress of the drive seemed to melt away, replaced by a sense of calm and appreciation for the simple joys that can be found even in the midst of traffic chaos.

Wanda, a member of the orchid genus, stands out with its large and robust petals, capable of blooming for extended periods. I used to have one in my possession, but unfortunately, it hasn't bloomed lately. On a positive note, my husband's brother-in-law described his own Wanda as thriving, looking healthy, and feeling well.

Maintaining these orchids involves a regimen of regular watering and fertilizing for both the roots and flowers, promoting optimal conditions for blooming. Despite the current dormancy of my own Wanda, hearing about the vitality of my husband's brother-in-law's orchid adds a touch of hope and optimism.

There's something uniquely therapeutic about orchid flowers. Their beauty has the power to refresh and uplift one's spirits. Perhaps it's time for me to revisit the care routine for my Wanda, in the hopes of witnessing those mesmerizing blooms once again, bringing not only aesthetic delight but also a sense of rejuvenation to the surroundings.

Once my husband's sister and the grandchildren were settled, attention turned to my husband, whose suitcase was meticulously packed after the long 17-hour journey from France to Phuket, Thailand. We encouraged him to sit back and rest, allowing him to recover from the exhaustive trip.

Deciding to enjoy the clear sky, we ventured out to eat near Rye Beach today. Despite the clear skies, there was a hint of smoke in the air, creating a unique atmosphere. However, the constant remained the scorching heat that defines the weather in this part of the world.

As we explored the surroundings, the distinct charm of Rawai Beach unfolded. The shoreline was adorned with a multitude of local fishing boats and tour boats anchored in the waters. It's this blend of local life and tourism that gives Rawai Beach its unique character, offering a picturesque view of the vibrant maritime activities that define this coastal community.

The excitement bubbled up in my husband's two granddaughters as they eagerly rushed to the beach, their laughter echoing as they embraced the feeling of sand beneath their feet. The joy in their eyes painted a vivid picture of their genuine enthusiasm.

After the beach frolic, we decided to settle in, ordering some delicious food while engaging in hearty conversations. Even though the moment was rich with warmth and laughter, I respected the granddaughters' preferences and refrained from taking any photos, understanding their aversion to social media exposure.

Time seemed to slip away as we savored our meal, engrossed in the tales and shared experiences. Nearly two hours later, we concluded our beachside rendezvous and headed back to our place to recuperate from the lingering fatigue of our long journey. Surprisingly, the discussion about our next travel destination remained unresolved, leaving us with the pleasant anticipation of future adventures yet to be planned.
