Hello everyone

Yesterday evening marked the end of a vibrant celebration at the Kathina Festival in Myanmar. The rhythmic beats of traditional music and the colorful sights of the festival had filled the air with a festive spirit. As the clock approached 6 p.m., my son, sister, niece, and I decided to embark on an unexpected adventure.

Leaving the lively atmosphere of the festival behind, we set out for Mae Sot District, eager to catch a screening of the latest horror movie, Teeyod. The journey unfolded against the backdrop of a breathtaking sunset, casting the sky in hues of golden yellow. Winter had already settled in, bringing with it the early dusk that painted the horizon in warm tones.

As the clock struck 6:30 p.m., the sky began its gradual descent into darkness, a characteristic of winter evenings. The fading sunlight gave way to the arrival of a chilly breeze, signaling the onset of a cold night. Undeterred by the encroaching darkness, our anticipation for the horror movie heightened.

Navigating the roads, we covered the distance to Mae Sot District, reaching our destination around 6:40 p.m. The town greeted us with its own unique charm, and the anticipation of the horror movie added an extra layer of excitement to our journey. Little did we know that the night held more thrills than just the ones promised by the movie.

As the clock neared 7:00 p.m., darkness settled over the entire area, casting a mysterious veil over Mae Sot District. The prominent landmark, Robinson Department Store, stood tall, its grandeur illuminated by the surrounding city lights. Being the largest department store in the district, it was a bustling hub of activity throughout the day.

However, as evening unfolded, a transformation swept through the streets. People began to vanish into the shadows, and one by one, the stores within the Robinson Department Store started to gradually close their doors. The once vibrant atmosphere now took on a quieter, more enigmatic aura.

With the Teeyod movie scheduled for 8:40 p.m., we found ourselves with about two hours to spare. The kids, caught up in the excitement of the upcoming horror flick, expressed a craving for the famous KFC fried chicken. Eager to indulge their taste buds, I decided to treat them to a pre-movie feast.

Navigating through the dimly lit streets, we reached the familiar red and white sign of the KFC outlet. The inviting aroma of fried chicken filled the air as we placed our order. The anticipation for both the meal and the movie heightened with each passing minute. The combination of the mysterious night, the closing stores, and the impending horror film created an atmosphere charged with suspense and excitement. Little did we know that our evening was about to take an unexpected turn.

Having satisfied our cravings with a hearty meal at KFC, we found ourselves with an hour to spare before the Teeyod movie. Wanting to fill this time with a touch of warmth and comfort, we decided to explore the sprawling aisles of Robinson Department Store. Our destination: the enchanting doll department.

As we meandered through the store, the vibrant colors of the stuffed animals and the soft glow of the lights created a cozy atmosphere. The shelves were adorned with an array of cuddly companions, each one vying for attention. It was in this whimsical haven that a realization struck—a fondly cherished stuffed animal had been left behind during our visit to my sister's house in Tak Province.

Recalling my son's nightly ritual of cuddling with his beloved companion, his eyes sparkled with both excitement and longing. The desire for a new stuffed animal to fill the void left by the forgotten friend became apparent. In the midst of the doll department, surrounded by an assortment of plush creatures, my son carefully selected a new companion.

Exiting the doll department with the new stuffed companion in hand, we eagerly made our way to the movie theater. Arriving early, we took our seats and settled in, anticipating the start of Teeyod. Around us, a small group of fellow moviegoers shared in the quiet excitement, patiently waiting for the cinematic experience to unfold.

As the minutes passed, the anticipation in the air heightened. The movie finally began, immersing us in its captivating storyline. The hours slipped away, and before we knew it, the clock struck 11:00 p.m., signaling the end of Teeyod. With the credits rolling and the lights brightening, we exited the theater, the atmosphere lingering with the lingering echoes of suspense and thrills.

Outside the theater, we encountered a changed scene. The department store doors had already closed, prompting us to take the express lane for our exit. Stepping into the night, we were met with a serene solitude. The usual bustle of shoppers and the hum of activity had vanished, replaced by a calm darkness and a quiet that seemed to stretch endlessly.

From what I've noticed winter in Thailand is like summer here in Romania, with friendly temperatures, but winter here in Romania we have bad weather, snow and cold.
I also noticed that the prices in Thailand at KFC are the same as here in Romania, although I honestly expected them to be a bit cheaper here.
