Yesterday, after a day of worship in the serene Phang Nga Province, we decided to add a touch of adventure to our journey. Our detour led us to the enchanting Mai Khao Beach, a place where you could stand mere feet away from colossal metal birds as they gracefully touched down at the nearby airport.

This spot was a haven for tourists, a place where they could capture memories of these mighty flying machines. However, on this particular day, the whims of the wind decided to choreograph a different spectacle. The gusts shifted abruptly, guiding the planes to a landing on the far side of the beach. Our close encounters with landing aircraft were replaced by the captivating sight of them taking off.

Months ago, my child and I had stood in this very spot, marveling at the power of these machines as they surged into the sky. The wind had roared, kicking up swirls of dust and sand, creating a tempestuous dance around us. This time, we decided to exercise caution, opting instead to savor the delectable roti offered in the nearby parking area.

Satiated and content, we resumed our journey along the shoreline. The beach stretched out before us, an expanse of untamed beauty, but the heavens above told a different story. Heavy clouds hung low, veiling the sun's warm embrace. The sea, though still and steadfast, seemed to echo the somber tones of the overcast sky.

As we strolled along the shoreline, a distant roar filled the air, drawing our gaze upwards. Against the vast expanse of sky, an airplane soared, a graceful silhouette against the horizon. It was a surreal sight, considering we were nearly two kilometers from the airport.

The path we followed was adorned with a vibrant carpet of purple sea morning glory flowers. Their delicate blooms seemed to dance in the sea breeze, adding a touch of whimsy to the rugged beauty of the beach. Little did we know, these flowers held a secret power.

Sea morning glory, we learned, possessed the remarkable ability to neutralize the venom of jellyfish. In this coastal haven, where jellyfish encounters were not uncommon, this knowledge was invaluable. During the rainy season, adventurous tourists would often take to the waters, unknowingly risking an encounter with these stinging creatures.

The aftermath was painful - a burning sensation would spread across the skin, a testament to the jellyfish's potent venom. This was where the humble morning glory came to the rescue. Its leaves held a healing elixir, a natural antidote to the jellyfish's sting.

With a bit of first aid know-how, we discovered that extracting the juice from the leaves and applying it to the affected area could provide relief. It was a small act, but it held the power to turn a potentially distressing situation into a manageable one.

As we continued our leisurely walk along the beach, we carried with us not only the beauty of the landscape but also the wisdom of nature's remedies. The sea morning glory, with its unassuming charm, became a symbol of resilience and the quiet strength that could be found in even the most unexpected corners of the world.
