HAPPY YEAR OF THE RABBIT!

Hello everyone

On the eve of the year 2023, my family and I traveled to Surin Beach to take part in the annual New Year's Eve celebration. As residents of Phuket, my family and I were no strangers to the beauty of Surin Beach. But even for us, the annual New Year's Eve celebration is something special. As we arrived, the sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the crowded beach.

As we arrived at the beach, we made our way through the throngs of tourists and found a spot to watch the sunset, the sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the crowded beach. It was a truly breathtaking sight, with the sun sinking slowly below the horizon and the sky turning a beautiful shade of orange and pink.

As we watched the sunset over Surin Beach, we were in no rush to leave. The beauty of the setting sun was too much to take in all at once, and we wanted to savor every moment of it. So we lingered, taking in the sights and sounds of the beach as the sky changed color.

My family and I also took the opportunity to snap some family photos together. We posed for pictures in front of the stunning sunset, with the ocean as our backdrop. It was a special moment that we knew we would always treasure, and we were glad to have captured it on camera.

As the sun disappeared, the beach was magically transformed. It was lit up with beautiful images of dolphins, octopuses, leatherback turtles, rabbits, and the moon, which are all symbols of the new year. It was a sight to behold, and we couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and wonder at the beauty of it all.

But the highlight of the evening was yet to come. As the sky grew dark, we looked up to see a mini hot air balloon show floating overhead by the sea. It was a stunning display, with the brightly colored balloons glowing against the night sky. We watched in awe as the balloons danced and twirled, mesmerized by their beauty.

As the hot air balloon show began, we eagerly watched the sky, waiting for the first balloon to appear. And when it did, we were awestruck. The balloon was in the shape of a colorful doll, with a bright and cheerful expression on its face. It seemed to dance and twirl in the air, much to the delight of the crowds below.

I couldn't resist the opportunity to take some pictures of the balloons, and I tried to capture as many angles as I could. It wasn't easy, however, as there were so many tourists around me, all trying to get a good view of the show. But I didn't let that deter me, and I kept snapping away, hoping to get the perfect shot.

As the show went on, I also tried to get a picture of myself with the balloons in the background. It was a bit of a challenge, as I had to maneuver my way through the crowds and find a spot with a clear view of the sky. But eventually, I managed to get the shot I wanted, and I was thrilled with the results. It was a truly memorable experience, and one that I would never forget.

As the nighttime wore on, my family and I continued to enjoy ourselves at Surin Beach. Despite the crowds of tourists, we managed to find some quiet spots where we could take beautiful photos without being stuck in the thick of things.

Every picture we took seemed to have a picture of a tourist in it, however, as it was nearly impossible to avoid them given the crowded nature of the beach. But we didn't let that dampen our spirits, and we continued to enjoy ourselves and take in the beauty of the sunset.

After enjoying the beautiful nature of the sea at night, my family and I made our way to the event that was being held nearby. As we approached the entrance, we were struck by the sight of a beautiful, colorful tunnel that led the way.

I couldn't resist the urge to take some pictures of the tunnel, and I snapped away, trying to capture as many angles as I could. The colors were so vibrant and eye-catching, and I knew that these pictures would be ones that I would treasure for a long time to come.

As we made our way through the tunnel and into the event, we were greeted by a sea of people, all there to celebrate the start of the new year. The atmosphere was electric, and we couldn't help but get caught up in the excitement.

Next to the beautiful, colorful tunnel was a concert stage that was complete with all the bells and whistles. It was a sight to behold, with lights of all colors flashing and swirling in sync with the music. The sound system was top-notch, and we could feel the bass vibrating through our bodies as we danced along.

As we made our way closer to the stage, we were struck by the sheer energy of the place. It was as if the music and lights were pulling us in, inviting us to let go and have a good time. And that's exactly what we did.

We danced and sang along with the performers, completely caught up in the moment. It was a night to remember, and one that we would always look back on with fond memories. The atmosphere was very good and it was an unforgettable experience for my family and me.

After we had danced until we were tired, we began to feel hungry, as we hadn't had dinner yet. So we made our way through the crowds and headed towards the shops that were lined up on either side of the street.

In the middle of the aisle was a dining table where many tourists were eating delicious food. I decided to order some Pad Thai and papaya salad to take back to eat at home, and while I waited, I couldn't help but notice a big white rabbit mascot standing nearby, holding a carrot.

I remembered reading in my Thai astrology textbook that all 12 zodiac signs were represented in the calendar, and this year corresponded to the year of the rabbit. So it made sense that there was a big rabbit mascot at the New Year's Eve celebration, symbolizing the start of the new year.

As I waited for my food, I glanced up and saw two hot air balloons floating in the air in the background. Many tourists were milling about, taking pictures of the balloons and the rabbit mascot.

Feeling tired and hungry, I snapped a few photos and then headed home, missing out on the fireworks that were set to go off at midnight on New Year's Eve to welcome the new year. It was still a memorable and enjoyable evening and one that I would always look back on with fondness.

It looks like January 22, 2023 will be the Year of the Water Rabbit, which I believe will last until February next year when the Year of the Wood Dragon begins.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Happy New Year with your loved ones.
You convey a lot of joy in all your posts, which is wonderful.
